The Grand Resort

Pros +

• We came to spend here 4 nights after Cairo and Luxor sightseeing. We found the staff very friendly and helpful. Our agent from booking.com was always available and helpful. Provided us with lots of info, made reservations for la carta restaurants. We had a late flight and we were given late check out and offered to have food even after checking out up to the point we left the hotel. The hotel is in the nice location close to everything and when you book any trips you do not need to pay extra for pick up its free, which is handy. All facilities were very clean, food was good , fresh and plentiful. We had bottled water in the room every day. There was a heated pool and many bars. Coffee was very good and available whole day. The beach is directly connected to the hotel over the bridge clean and we could have used a bar there too. All in all We had a lovely time and surely will be back!
• Looks beautiful, the room was nice and getting cleaned daily. Some of the reception staff were helpful. The bed was comfortable.
• They are so welcoming and cheerfull! Whatever you need they will do it for you!

Cons -

• The only negative comment from me that the fitness gym was paid and the spa was closed that I was experiencing both to be available when booking. But we sorted this easily- we booked lovely spa and massage with Cleopatra Spa outside the hotel at a very good price and we liked it so much we went twice in four days!
• Only one functional socket so if u want tea/coffee u have to hold the kettle while the water boils as it doesnt reach the floor. The bathroom could definitely do with a bit of renovation - the shower curtain had mold and water was dripping around the toilet. Water was luke warm the first few evenings. It says all inclusive but in reality its some inclusive: the various bars and restaurants required additional charge for different drinks/foods. Orange juice ( which is a breakfast fundamental for many) had to be paid for, 3 euros per glass. Also the guy walking around with the orange juices was not your friendliest person, all he could do was repeat 3 euros. The glasses were dirty. Internet needs to be paid for: 35e for 2 devices per week. There is hustling inside the resort: free photo shoot, massage and such til the point where they follow you around. Hotel taxis are 5e but you can just walk outside and find one for 100 Egyptian pounds which is 2e. I complained to one of the reception staff that one of my perfume samples was missing after the room had been cleaned and he told me that the procedure was to have the manager come and search the room, like police does when investigating a suspect. No idea if that meant going through all my personal belongings so I decided against it.
