About

Built in an attractive architectonic style, and imagined as a hotel-museum by Architect Ricardo Legorreta, the Camino Real Polanco México Hotel is 0.6 mi from the Anthropology Museum and the Chapultepec Castle. Guests can enjoy world class dining at one of the 10 restaurants on-site. The rooms in this Four Diamond Award property feature, telephone and flat-screen TV in some of them. All come with air conditioner, safety box and a desk. The bathrooms have a shower. This hotel combines modern architectural profiles with obvious pre-Hispanic pyramid reminiscences, and guests can enjoy a swimming pool, a gym and a garden. Camino Real Polanco Mexico is 0.9 mi from luxurious Polanco district and 5 mi from the Fine Arts Museum. Mexico City Zocalo Square is 3.7 mi away while Hermanos Rodriguez Racetrack is 9.2 mi away. Benito Juarez International Airport is 9.9 mi from this Camino Real.

    Pros +

    • love the architecture and colors
    • Fun and lively decor. Great food and central location.
    • There were plenty of rooms available for good prices

    Cons -

    • The hotel is under construction/renovations and there is a lot of jack-hammering all day. The hotel staff did not tell us about this and it was awful. When i asked them about it they did not care that we had to endure this noise. The food is bad too.
    • Staff was confrontational in asking for gratuities.
    • There was absolutely no view, other than looking up to the street. While the price of the room is competitive, the price for the breakfast buffet was too high.

Very convenient, great location. Good service and clean.

    Very accommodating and helpful staff.

Getting from the entry plaza to check in is cumbersome as there are two sets of stairs one must go up or down.

I enjoyed the retro style of the hotel. The room was lovely, clean and modern. I really liked the balcony.

    10StephenPosted on: 5-21-2022

The design is ultra modern (Picassoesque) with great visual attractions. The staff is multilingual, incredibly friendly, and extremely helpful. Service is prompt and efficient. Value for money is fabulous. The rooms are delightful.

    NOTHING!

    Location

The hotel is out dated and needs to be updated. Some of the chairs in the common areas and bar areas are quite worn.

    10Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 8-19-2018

The hotel is centrally located, close to museums, surrounded by restaurants if you choose not to eat inside the hotel. Staff was tremendous, extremely helpful when a colleague had a problem with a lost credit card. The neighborhood is generally much safer

    Nothing bad to report!

beautiful modern hotel which is warm and comfortable. Quiet location and layout provides for more quiet.

rooms need more and better lighting

    8Verified Hotel GuestPosted on: 2-19-2015

We liked the size of the Deluxe Room, the central location of hotel and the courtesy of staff.

We didn't like the expensive, slow and intermittent internet, the price of the hotel's taxi's (Uber is 50% cheaper and VERY safe) nor being charged a cover price for the downstairs restaurant.

I found that their room rates was way too high considering that I found better and 5 star rated with much lower rates rate. I felt ripped off.

The property was well kept. The room was nice and big. Huerta was a nice restaurant

    Location Architectural design.

Dark and long hallways. Dated room decor and furniture.

    8BrentPosted on: 2-13-2026

    Near museums

The restaurants within the hotel provide convenience but are of only moderate quality.

    7RonaPosted on: 2-8-2026

    Design, helpful staff.

Beautiful lobbies and communal spaces but dated rooms and furnishes. Lacked charm. Needs upgrade. Dark hallways.

Rooms were very clean and bed was super comfy! Included toiletries and 2 small water bottles per day. Mini bar fridge ideal for storing additional beverages (not included). Went to Bistro in restaurant for some pizza and wine which was delish! Highly recommend the cajeta crepes! Location was ideal for walking. I walked to Chapultepec forest to enjoy the zoo, Museum of Anthropology, Tamayo Museum, Museum of Modern Art, botanical garden, Chapultepec Castle, and Chapultepec Lake. Short Uber rides to Polanco (Masaryk Ave has all the shops and restaurants you could think of) as well as Reforma Ave to see the Angel of Independence which were about $5 - $10 dollars. Will come back to this hotel, the staff was so kind and helpful and really made me feel at home. Also my medication had to be stored at a cooler temp than the mini fridge and they were able to store it for me without any issues.

No blackout curtains to my knowledge, just used my sleeping mask. Could hear people talking while walking down the hall which was to be expected so not a dealbreaker.

This is a very large, very high-end hotel, at a very good location, especially if you are interested in the many museums that are in walking distance within and around the nearby bosque de chaupetec. All the conveniences and services and excellent staff of a high-end hotel are there to get you feel sufficiently pampered and taken care of. And as it is not part of a large international brand, you actually are in Mexico.

being in Mexico in December one realizes that for most of the rest of the year, room heating will not be necessary, and is therefore not much considered. it was a bit chilly.
