    Pros +

    • Location of hotel was great, easy walk to city centre, hotel was lovely, staff were great, breakfast room was very nice, food was great.
    • Location - convenient for walking into StratfordGood breakfast selection
    • Lovely pool and very welcoming staff. Beautiful hotel and easy short walk into Stratford town centre.

    Cons -

    • Towel rail did not work nor the extractor fan in the bathroom. Furnishings looked past there best, not what I expected from the photos on website. Never had to pay parking charges at a hotel before.
    • No sparkling water available on any of the corridor taps !Bar too crowded far too many people from out side using the facilities leaving no seats for guests of the hotel !
    • £7 per day for parking the car is a bit rich and although they are ‘dog’ friendly ( and charge accordingly) they do not cater for dogs in any real sense. No bowl, treats etc. We always take our own and don’t expect anything regarding our furry friend but a small bowl for water would be nice.

Fantastic location and a very clean and friendly hotel. The food and staff were fantastic. I would stay again.

    Comfy beds

I was staying with my daughter for one night. We asked if it was possible to have robes to use the pool. The member of staff explained that she would check, but could not promise. But actually we didn’t hear from her again to let us know either way.On checking out, my daughter and I had lost the key card holder so couldn’t remember the room number exactly but had a good idea, which we told her. The member of staff was just staring at us to provide the room number, despite the fact I had provided key card! Finally I said can you check under our name and she found us immediately?Check in and check out needs reviewing. Also, there was one member of staff serving drinks in the bar last night. He did a fabulous job, but there should be more staff supporting him. Our room was literally the final door next to the entrance to the spa. This was fine, but we felt like we had been given a less desirable room.Perhaps we shouldn’t use booking.com to book. I heard a member of staff discuss the difference between booking through an agent and booking.direct.

In walking distance of town centre. Nice swimming pool and steam room.

    Looked the part from outside

Drunken guests from a wedding stood outside reception smoking wasn’t the greatest reception on arrival. Bed uncomfortable, shower unclean, bad smells coming from various area in the hotel, toilets especially bad.

    The location was central.

The mattress was too hard, the room was noisy and too hot.. breakfast was mediocre.

The property location was a 5min walk from the centre of Stratford. The property was comfortable and clean. The bar area was nice and the bar staff were friendly. The restaurant dinner was lovely, the steaks were especially good. The breakfast on offer was tasty although the hot food was not particularly hot. We didn’t try the spa/ pool facilities.

The property, although clean was definitely looking tired. It didn’t affect our stay though.

Loved the breakfast and location of this property. Paid for an upgraded room which was lovely and big down side to this was the heating.

Pool area very sparse - only a small selection of relaxing beds which were occupied by families playing in the pool. One of the spa showers was out of action. Appreciate it was half term and expected the area to be busy but no resting areas or quiet sections for those without children.Staff of reception were not overly welcoming or helpful. Our room was freezing - the radiator was stone cold and heating for the room via air con was broken. We were offered 2 mini heaters, these were great initially but took hours to warm the room. During the night the heaters would click at a certain heat and shut off for a time period then click when going back on which was frustrating. I’m surprised the heating was pre set for arrival - and was dismissed when complaining as it’s an old heating system.

The resturant and cleaning staff were welcoming and supportive.

The reception staff seemed to make the easiest task difficult. Months ago I added a 3rd nights to the booking. On arrival they didnt seem to know this but eventually found the booking but had put us in a different room forthe final night. This was rectified. I booked a 17.30hrs time slot for the evening meal. This went missing but rectified by the restaurnt staff. The key cards stopped working on day 2 &3.The main focus on arrival was to have me pay for parking. The room was dated aand in need of freshening up.The Spa needs some serious maitenance. Many missing tiles around and in the pool. Same in the steam room. The location is great. This is the second McDonalds I have stayed at in two months both need to up their game too justify the prices.

    Location, building

Having to book breakfast timeHaving to pay £5 on top of a £24 breakfast if you wanted eggs benedict £29 is very expensive for that.Staff all a bit miserable with the exception of a couple.

Great accommodation. Friendly staff. Great location.

Limited menu for multi day stay

The room and the pool were great. The location was perfect for us and the breakfast was very good. Staff in the restaurant and breakfast room were really helpful and quick to satisfy our needs. They were courteous and helpful.

The reception was less than expected. No information was given to us so we were constantly having to ask for information. On arrival we were told to reserve a table at the reception for dinner but not told that we needed to pay for it there and that it could not be added to the room bill. There was never more than one person at the reception desk so there were often several people waiting. This could have been more efficient. I phoned ahead to request a double bed and not twins but that still had to be altered on arrival so the message never made it.

Our room was very Tudor, it was fabulous, dark wood beams on walls and ceiling, uneven floor, very authentic. The bar area was lovely and cosy.

We were in room 14. We awoke at 8am to loud music which was playing from somewhere. The spa really lets the hotel down. There were no towels as they had ran out so we had to go back round to hotel after checking out to ask for towels for the spa. One of the poolside showers was out of order with chairs blocking it off. There was only a pool and a small sauna and steam room. We hadn’t booked any treatments so can’t comment on that. It just didn’t have a relaxing spa feel to it, it just felt like a public swimming pool. We stayed 1/2 hour then left.

    10PaoloPosted on: 2-19-2026

Breakfast is very good and ambiance of Hotel excellent. Room service quick and although restaurant a little expensive, the quality of our room service meals was absolutely first class. Beds comfortable and rooms spacious. Great location within walking distance of National Theatre and town.

Very large and spread out hotel so be aware of room location and your needs. Wheelchair users should discuss needs with Hotel!

Lovely stay - great location, nice spa and spacious room.

Rooms in slight need of some modernisation.

Warm welcome at check-in, with clear instructions for finding my room, parking and use of facilities. My room was spacious and bright with a comfortable bed. I used the pool and sauna twice during my stay - very pleased with opening hours (06:30 until 22:00). Everything was clean. Service at breakfast was excellent, all staff were friendly and helpful. The food was plentiful.
