    Pros +

    • Staff were really lovely. Good value for money. Good facilities .
    • The double deluxe room
    • Spa, drinks voucher and nice room

    Cons -

    • Needs a little updating in places and the cards to get in the room kept deactivating , it was explained not to put them near your phone . A little noisy at times
    • Unfortunately it was 58F outside but inside the apartment it was extremely hot. I had to sleep with no covers and a fan pointed at me and even then I could not sleep. We let the front desk know but they could not fix it. The apartment per se was spacious and clean. Very nice. But the temperature problem made it very uncomfortable. Other than that the location is beautiful but the hotel part could use some updating.
    • Room booked was not given was given a standard instead. Dinner was not serviced till an hour later

Spa, drinks voucher and nice room

Still no coffee machine at breakfast. Been like this for months now. Really need a coffee machine rather than the flasks that give off a cheap vibe

spa and breakfast fine . location excellent , building lovely

cleanliness was bad , attention to detail poor . felt run down and dirtty

    Gorgeous location and hotel

We stayed in the basic area and that’s how I’d describe the room, too. It was a long walk from reception to our room. Nothing special

    7JamesPosted on: 8-17-2025

It’s a fantastic location and the view over the golf course is beautiful.

The hotel is a bit worn in places . Basic things like collecting glasses and plates that were in the grounds and in the garden from the previous nights wedding were not done . Seemed under staffed at times . It’s s shame because it could be so good.

Beautiful place, spa included with stay, comfortable beds and clean.

Would have loved the hot tubs and sauna to be hotter.

    7ShawnaPosted on: 7-22-2025

Beautiful grounds and a relaxing garden scape.

Service was mediocre and staff outside of the welcome desk wasn’t that friendly. Our tv remote didn’t work and we were told someone would be up and they never showed up.

I stayed for one night as my friends were getting married at the venue. The room had everything that I needed.

    Everything was good.

    9WaynePosted on: 5-26-2025

Spa, gardens and a good breakfast. Also had the apartment which was lovely.

Really need that coffee machine fixing at breakfast as the coffee is luke warm and not good.

    8WaynePosted on: 5-18-2025

Spa was lovely, decent family room and fantastic gardens.

Need a proper coffee machine. The coffee at breakfast was cold and not appetizing at all.

    9GaryPosted on: 5-17-2025

The hotel building itself is stunning. We couldn't believe how big it is was. could've explored it all. bed was extremely comfortable, view onto the garden area was beautiful. great value for money.

nit picking a little bit but rooms need a touch up. some of the paint was faded, scratched in the wallpaper. carpet faded a tad. needs updating

incredible hotel! food was delish and the room spacious and cozy stuff was friendly and we loved every seconddidn’t except such a nice spa

    all good

    8DamianPosted on: 4-29-2025

Very friendly and welcoming with great views. Responsive staff. Good spa area

It’s starting to look a little tired in places. Construction work in car park started at 8 am which is a little early.

We have been several times and always have a wonderful time, this trip was for mother's 88th birthday ,

Only issue was mum's evening meal , she didn't enjoy it, was not cooked to her liking , they offered her something else but she didn't want anything else so just had a desert instead..My own little pieve was on checking out that I was told I owed £3. For some bread at dinner, however ,the waitress gave me half a portion of bread as a starter ,had main and no desert..Anyway the lady on reception said we didn't have half board , only b n b , I had obviously already paid for the stay a couple of days previously so i knew what I had booked and paid for, she insisted I was wrong. I insisted I was not.. she then rechecked my booking and said oh yes you have paid for bbem for two , then she said but you still owe £3 for bread...I also said no I don't and can you remove that from my account please...She said she couldn't yet as she needs to speak to dining room regarding the bread (all sounds very ridiculous does it not) so I left feeling a bit fed up tbh

Beautiful setting and views, close to Stratford, lovely rooms and historic building. Grounds are well kept. Comfortable bed and bedding. Quite nights sleep.

The hotel needs a refresh and some money spending on refurbishment. The buffet breakfast was a real let down and not expected of this type of hotel. Coffee in urns, no vegetarian options (I'm not veggie myself), no cold meats or cheese, salmon etc. Scrambled eggs were terrible, I'm assuming from powder and not fresh real eggs. No menu selection, for example waffles, pancakes, fish, cold meats or poached eggs, eggs Benedict, eggs Florentine ect. Breakfast is the last experience of a stay and this was very disappointing. Evening dining was better but still below expectation. Menu was very limited, understandable at the expectation of outstanding food. However the food was warm, not hot, dry chicken and uninspiring and unimaginative for the price and setting. The hotel needs attention. Paint and wallpaper coming off the walls, door handles hanging off, rusty signs in the spa, stained carpets and ripped curtains and lamp shades around the hotel. Its an old building that needs some investment and refurbishment to keep it at its best.

    Beautiful building nice staff

Keycard kept playing up like 10 times

    8KevinPosted on: 4-23-2025

The location is excellent and the staff are great and the prices are reasonable.

It’s a lovely old building but it needs a total revamp before it gets beyond repair.
