    Pros +

    • Welcoming, clean and in a convenient location for what I was in the area for.
    • Out of the way retreat fantastic location to hope to local big towns
    • The building is stunning and has been sympathetically renovated. We especially liked the goldfish in the well. The service from the staff was very attentive and friendly. Steve especially looked after us very well. During our stay my husband was unwell and the staff were very accommodating. The bedroom had everything we needed for our four night stay. The food was fantastic, breakfast had plenty to choose from, the sandwiches at lunch were great with a side salad that was there to be eaten not just for decoration and the chunky chips were some of the best chips I've ever had. We were fortunate enough to be staying on a Sunday as the roast was faultless. We will be returning.

    Cons -

    • Old building , with a bit of history to it which has kept its image as such. But very modern accommodation The host very nice guy and could not do to much for you.perfect!
    • I can't think of anything other than I wish we could have stayed longer.
    • Nothing but just be aware Sunday lunchtime the car park gets very busy so plan your arrival times outside of the lunch period. Worth pre booking a table for when you want to eat - this indicates a good restaurant

Lovely team of staff with a mix of ages, but all worked hard and appeared to enjoy what they were doing - always a sign of good teamwork and management

Breakfast was decent and sufficient, hotel was cold and no means to make it warmer. Did raise this but sadly no effect and hairdryer was faulty which was not replaced

    Quite cold

    Room was a bit small.

Lovely room in a very quaint buildingRestaurant food was exceptionalCheckin was easy Staff lovelyBreakfast was breakfast

Some dust in room on light shadesWhatever had been used to stick bathroom mirror to wall you could see.Breakfast was adequate ...had to ask for tea, not asked if wanted white or brown toast...streaky bacon which was very salty.

Very updated room and en-suite bathroom and also very warm and cozy in a quiet area The food was delicious both dinner and breakfast and all the environment was very inviting . Good facilities , good parking space they even got chargers for electric cars .

The only small thing I have to point out is the shower head wasn’t working properly but it doesn’t stop to come back again .

    It was ok

I had booked and then found out that the kitchen was closing early. I finished dinner and went to my room. There was a band playing who were right under my room sadly and they played on past 930pm. The bedlinen is cheap and I was cold.

The room itself was loverly, spacious

Staff was not very helpful, tv next door to me was on loud till late, staff was not very helpful except for the manager. Had to drag my suitcase right to the top of the stairs, then someone mentioned you should have brought it in the back way.

Second time staying... a lovely country pub with excellent food

A comfy chair in the room would have been nice. I had a long time to chill out and read but I had to sit on the bed which isn't great for a bad back

Breakfast was goodBar was nice and drinks good and reasonably priced

Room was small and a bit tired and dated

    8StephenPosted on: 1-18-2026

Great value. Liked the staff/owners. Lovely rural location. All facilities needed were there. Would very happily stay again.

Bit later breakfast times in the week? Petty but...green emergency light, I understand but bright!

    9BethPosted on: 1-18-2026

The hotel was beautiful. The bathroom in the room wowed me. The bed was super comfy. The dinner staff was very friendly and gave my daughter a free bowl of chips, fruit and a drink whilst having dinner which was kind. We would definitley return.

The room was clean but there was a thin layer of dust on the lamp shades, blinds and units. Otherwise my rating would have been a 10.

Lovely atmosphere and dinner was AMAZING Great and easy parking with the ability to charge car. Rooms were very clean and comfortable.

Room was a bit smelly and water supply cut off temporarily without any prior communication. However I absolutely believe this was a one off plumbing issue and we were given extra time to check out to cover any inconvenience.

    9MaggiePosted on: 1-5-2026

Our room was very clean and comfortable. All the staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The food was very tasty and the breakfast was excellent. I would recommend this hotel to family and friends.

The only thing we found was the bed wasn't very comfortable, so maybe replacing the mattress in the near future might need doing.

Staff were very welcoming and polite. Evening meal was very good as was breakfast the following morning. Room was cosy and clean.
