    Pros +

    • Location and helpful staff.
    • Comfortable hotel in the centre of Nottingham. Rooms were clean, and a nice breakfast included. It was ok for our one night stay.
    • Breakfast was decent. Gym was nice. The hotel is close to city centre and places where I wanted to be. Would come again.

    Cons -

    • Lack of bar and restaurant due to staff absences
    • The noise from the street below, shouting and fighting continued until 3.30am, as the room was very hot we had to open the secondary glazing panels, which wasn’t conducive to a good nights sleep. The room had very small windows and no view.
    • Not much. To be picky I would say the room was slightly too small.

Very comfortable with quirky decor. Bedroom 208 above-average size with great air-con. Quiet. A channel list for the TV would have been helpful. Breakfast excellent. City centre location could not be beaten though overnight parking in a public multistorey car park not optimal. However, this was only two minutes walk from hotel. This hotel would be our first-choice option next time we visit Nottingham. Good value for money.

Lack of secure parking (but not a problem of the hotel, who gave a 20% reduction in the overnight parking bill). TV channels need a guide.

Very central, good facilities, friendly staff, comfortable room

Excellent location and really friendly staff. Lots of character and shower was excellent.

The breakfast was not worth the money, especially with so many independent places nearby. The carpet in the room was quite shabby and coming away from the edges.

Great place and experience staff on site. Very honest people due to leaving some expensive belongings behind and was posted by record delivery.manager excellent

The location is excellent, the staff we met were very nice and overall the common spaces look well kept. Plenty of storage. The shower was excellent and the toiletries provided were very nice.

The sound deadening between floors was really bad - especially as other guests came back in the early hours. I can’t blame the hotel for how loud other guests were- but the lack of sound insulation between the floors and the hallway meant it sounded like they were actually in our room! The bed was remarkably uncomfortable as were the pillows, and it wasn’t a restful nights sleep. The room was okay, it looked much nicer in the photos but it was a bit grubby in person (sockets not screwed to wall, sofa bed with head board fallen off etc etc). The bathroom was massive but cold, and was in need of a renovation (based on the peeled paint and mouldy ceilings). We were a bit deflated about our visit and can’t say we’d recommend the Mercure over a budget chain.

This was so central and easy for town centre

No parking and the car park they recommend was £18 for one night

    5ZoePosted on: 2-12-2026

    The location was excellent

The room was tiny! We both had to shuffle sideways to get in bed, the bathroom door opened directly onto the television, the chair that was provided didn’t actually fit anywhere and the bathroom was so small it was unbearably hot.

Location as close to event I went to

A Dirty, dated, extremely tired room which was very small & in need of an extreme clean / redecoration as not value for money. No staff on reception when i went out or returnedI want to be contacted asap about this booking

Perfect location Nice room, comfy bed and a nice selection at breakfast

    4MichellePosted on: 2-1-2026

    Bed was comfy

Room was dated.. also room was tilted. Seemed to have a sloop in the middle. Wine stains on the wall. Shower water pressure was low, kept going cold. Toilet was close to wall/door so wasnt comfy to sit.

    8CutlerPosted on: 1-31-2026

    Very cheap considering the location.

Because it's an old building the room was on a slant which was uncomfortable when in bed.

    1SeanPosted on: 1-30-2026

    Location

Cold room as air con not working. Insulation between walls non existent. Unenven floor. Water from shower overflowing out of the drain.

    The location

Booked the best room they had and was dissapointed by it. The staff were very nice though

    7NadinePosted on: 1-26-2026

We liked the quirkiness of the hotel and central location. The room was clean and tidy and a good size. Liked that catrons of water were provided in the room

Had to keep getting to door key re-set every tine we came back to our room, even though it wasnt stored by a phone. The bar was never open despite being advertised as being available on the website
