Cons -
- hot tub was filthy ,mould on walls bathtub ,showerhead didn¿t work properly ,bits on legs, bedbug bites huge ones and lots, no hairdryer .not return to this hotel even though my family live there live in there
- Facility needs a major upgrade. Mats were used to cover up slits in the call hallways as an example. Signs of disrepair throughout. As a person with some disabilities I found the absence of an elevator, and having to climb stairs a major problem.
- Strange layout that resulted in a long walk up stairs to get to our room.

I wasn't such a fan of waking up to the sound of a neighbor peeing but other than that it was good
It was good. Outdated decor, but rooms were comfortable. Staff were very nice. Very much enjoyed our stay there.
Could not see mountains due to patio roof not being very clean. Would have been magical to wake up to that view.
It was ok
No elevator, no on-site breakfast room. Said breakfast was included but you have to drive a km down the road to Tim Hortons with a voucher to get it. $10 max, per person. When 1st entering the room - it was smelly from the heat. Turned on A/c on blast cool and the smell went away.
I booked four rooms for family for a memorial -- everyone commented on how much they like the rooms -- location and the pleasant staff
I did now receive any complaints
The snacks in the Lobby and clean warm room.
It could use a face lift.
Rooms were spacious, had a balcony and were clean. Room had a microwave, refrigerator and AC/Heater. Our flush was not working so they changed the room immediately. Staff were really friendly and helpful. It’s well accessible and near to the ferry terminal (10-15minutes). Pool was open but we didn’t use it this time because of the weather. Parking space was free. Christmas cookies, chocolates etc. were kept for guests.
No breakfast in house. We were provided a coupon to avail at a restaurant close by. Spa was closed this week. Some facilities seem outsourced. No lift.
The location is great and easy access.
There was dog poo in the parking lot and cans and garbage thrown around on property. Our bathroom door wouldn’t shut.
The cleanliness and it was quiet. Room was big
We were not informed at time of booking the hot tub did not work. We booked room with breakfast included. Upon check-in we were given a coupon to Tim Hortons 3 blocks away for our free breakfast. I felt these two things should have been clear at booking.
The room was very large with two king beds and a kitchen. It was clean and updated.
The bathroom was a bit small. There was no iron or ironing board in the room. We didn’t bother asking the front desk. Possibly they had one to loan. The free breakfast was actually a voucher at Tim Hortons, which was a little far for us to walk so we took the car. It was a little complicated trying to understand what we could order, but it worked out that there was a dollar amount allowed so we could order whatever we wanted and pay the extra if necessary, but we didn’t have to pay any extra. The second day we just went and brought everything back to our room.
Great location Spacious roomsClean pool and deck areaLinen and towels were clean and changed daily.
Bed was very hard. Carpets were dirty in the room.
Our room was double booked and we got told that we could not be accommodated even though our booking was first.
First, the room should not have been double booked, second when the error was discovered, then our booking should have been honoured as we were the primary booking.
Left as soon as we saw the room but still haven’t received a refund.last time i book with booking.com
Couch was very stained. Bed showed signs of bed bugs. Badly in need of a renovation. Not at all as advertised.
Size & location
No elevator.I am 76 and had to walk up to second floor dragging my suitcase.Yuk.
Room and everything was as advertized staff was great Tim Hortons breakfast was terrific
The Cedar Inn was almost fully booked so I was fortunate to get ANY accommodation. However I was not expecting to be on the second floor without any elevator (necessary for my disability). Nonetheless, the staff were very helpful to make me comfortable. The reception clerk kindly escorted me to my room which was up two flights of stairs and down some winding corridors. My friends offered to bring me breakfast for the next day as I didn't have a car to redeem the coupon provided by the hotel. On check out the hotel staff helped with my bag and to navigate safely to the front office.
The shortcomings of the hotel (no elevator) are not the fault of the staff but an area for improvement by the Cedars Inn. If I was making a reservation again I would insist on being on the ground floor for accessibility. I don't know how they'd make up for the breakfast coupon being a drive away (and a guest not having a car). I was lucky to have local friends to help. Overall the kindness of their staff made up for the lack of accessibility.
Friendly staff, Clean rooms, Comfortable beds, lots of places to eat nearby and it is convenient for the ferry to and from Vancouver.
The pool is looking dated.
