Pet friendly @ $25. I would not go to anyplace that charges more. If passing through I would sleep in my car and have. Pet fees are getting ridiculous. We have found someplace I charge more for a non-refundable pet fee then the actual room.

Top Tips
- Reserve 3-6 weeks in advance if your stay overlaps with a Salem Civic Center event weekend. Local hotel rooms often sell out quickly during concerts or games.
- Most Salem hotels are midscale chains offering amenities like free breakfast or indoor pools. For boutique stays or premium suites, which are limited, book as early as possible.
- Stay in Salem for easy access to Roanoke highlights such as the Taubman Museum, located just a 10-20 minute drive each way. Allow 20-40 extra minutes for roundtrip travel during rush hour traffic.
- Choose Salem hotels if you need free onsite parking; downtown Roanoke lots often charge $1-$2 per hour. Most chain hotels offer accessible parking spaces for guests with mobility needs.
- For quick airport transfers, select a hotel near the Roanoke-Blacksburg Regional Airport (12-15 miles, about 15-20 minutes from Salem). Many hotels offer shuttle service—verify the schedule before arrival.
- When booking, directly request accessible rooms with roll-in showers, as not all Salem hotels have these despite ADA standards. Ask about visual alarms or step-free access if needed.
- Take Valley Metro buses for an affordable option between Salem and Roanoke; fares start at about $1 per ride. Timetables shift by season, so check the latest schedules online before you go.
- Blue Ridge Parkway access points are 10-30 minutes from Salem, making it ideal for a scenic drive or picnic. Check National Park Service seasonal closure advisories before departing.
