Location, price.

The location is excellent. It's just a few blocks from the Santa Fe Plaza and the State Capitol. An easy walk. The room was comfortable, two queen beds, great closet space with lots of sturdy hangers. Ours was an upstairs room with good water pressure. The paid parking arrangements are a bargain for this location in Santa Fe ($10) for day we checked in/overnight/and until 3 pm on day of checkout. Front desk staff very cordial and the lobby coffee was excellent. Good variety of local brochures and guides available. It was an ideal choice for our one night stay.

Can't suggest any improvements. We were very happy with our choice.

El Sendero is in a great location--walking distance from everything in downtown Santa Fe. And despite being right in the hustle and bustle between the state capitol campus and downtown, it's quiet and feels secluded. The rooms are spotlessly clean and well-maintained, and the staff were friendly and helpful.

It would really add a lot to have just a simple continental breakfast included in the stay: cereals, instant oatmeal, fruit and yogurt would go a long way, for instance. And the very modern-style and very clean rooms would benefit from a bit of southwestern style to give them some personality. Maybe just a photograph of a nearby aspen grove on the wall, or a northern NM landscape.
