Honestly I'm unable to tell you. Never got the opportunity to have an actual experience. The room out of nowhere along with the reservation was abruptly canceled. The Staff working there was just flat out "RUDE" and had to wait 10 minutes for someone.
Nothing, This place is not what you advertise it too be. This is nothing more than a financial TRAP for travelers, especially, unknowing out of state visitors. PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THIS PLACE. I WAS COMPLETELY TAKEN ADVANTAGE OF.

Top Tips
- Request a room on the second floor or higher if staying between June 1 and November 30. Lumberton experiences flash and river flooding during tropical storms, with major chains like Hampton Inn and Holiday Inn Express known for generator access. Confirm the hotel's flood or evacuation plan and generator availability with the front desk or booking platform.
- Check the hotel's FEMA flood zone and elevation using FEMA's Flood Map Service Center before booking. Properties in special flood hazard areas may close or require last-minute relocations after heavy rain, helping you avoid service disruptions.
- Choose hotels on the I-95 or US-74 corridor for access to 24/7 services. Many top chains in this area offer 24-hour fitness and business centers, with fuel and restaurants within a 0-5 minute drive, unlike some downtown locations.
- Secure a rental car or confirm your hotel or airport shuttle in advance, as rideshare drivers are often scarce outside Lumberton's main corridors. Loyalty program members may have access to free shuttle or car rental discounts.
- Check City of Lumberton or Robeson County websites for boil-water advisories after storms. Major hotels often provide free bottled water during advisories; confirm availability at check-in and keep at least 1 L per person per day for short stays.
- Book 2-6 weeks ahead for UNC Pembroke events like home football games and graduation. You can avoid 20-50% last-minute price increases, and loyalty program points or mid-week stays may offer the best value.
- Prefer hotels with interior corridors or 24/7 staffed desks. Interior corridor hotels such as Fairfield Inn and Holiday Inn Express maximize both safety and guest comfort with continuous staffing in a county where reported crime rates are higher than the state average.
- Reserve 6-8 weeks ahead for the Robeson County Fair (September-October) or Southeastern Agricultural Center events. Advance booking can save you 15-25% compared to peak rates and helps avoid 20-40% surges in this rural area.
- Include a total of 7-10% occupancy tax plus fees when budgeting your stay. Robeson County adds a 3% county tax to the state's 7% hotel tax, totaling $15 to $15 USD nightly on most bookings. Review fee details using booking platforms.
- Select hotels within 2 miles of I-95 exits or the UNC Health Southeastern area. Crime rates in these zones are 20-30% lower than Lumberton's city-wide average of 4,500 incidents per 100,000 residents.
- Verify Wi-Fi stability if you require remote work connectivity. While hotels like Hampton Inn typically offer 25-50 Mbps download speeds, outages can occur during storms. Business centers at major chains often have reliable wired internet; inquire with the front desk and ask if backup generators are available.
- Prepare for hurricane season disruptions between June and November. Hotels may enforce evacuations with 12-24 hours' notice due to flood risk near the Lumber River. Pack essentials like non-perishables and check if your property has backup power.
- Book weekday stays for lower rates. Weekend nights (Friday-Sunday) see increases of 15-20% compared to weekdays, especially during event seasons. Extending your stay into weekdays can maximize savings while allowing you to enjoy hotel amenities.
- Verify breakfast inclusions when booking. Many Lumberton hotels offer complimentary continental or hot breakfast, saving $15 USD per person per day compared to paying a la carte. Enjoy a hot breakfast at on-site dining rooms in midscale properties—check if it’s served on-site or via voucher.
- Confirm hotel pet policies and fees before arrival. About 45% of area hotels allow pets, with fees typically ranging from $15 to $50 USD per pet per night. Some national brands like La Quinta and Days Inn have dedicated pet-relief areas; ask at check-in for their location.
- Plan meals ahead if you’ll arrive late. Independent restaurants often close by 9 or 10 PM, leaving chain options as the main choices for late-night dining.
- Look for hotels advertising dedicated truck or RV parking if traveling with larger vehicles. Standard lots may be too small, so confirm specific amenities in advance. Some national brands offer dedicated vehicle parking; ask about availability if needed.
- Book hotels at least 21 days ahead during tobacco auction season (September-October) to secure lower pre-surge pricing. Rates near the Lumberton Tobacco Market can climb 30-50% within the 7-day window before arrival.
- Choose I-95 corridor properties north of Exit 50 for 15-20% lower base rates. Hotels between Exits 50-54 typically cost $65-$75 USD per night, compared to $85-$105 USD downtown, and offer similar safety and access. Many chains here provide amenities like 24-hour fitness rooms and business centers.
- Check if your hotel provides free shuttle service to Southeastern Health Center (3.2 miles east), as some extended-stay lodgings offer unadvertised medical shuttles. This can save $20-$25 USD per round-trip taxi fare; loyalty program members may receive additional discounts.
- Decline dynamic currency conversion (DCC) at hotel front desks to avoid hidden 3-5% markups. Pay in USD and opt out of DCC to prevent surcharges.
- Request rooms on upper floors at lodgings near the Lumber River (flood zone AE). Properties within 0.5 miles of the river have shown 12% higher moisture reports after heavy rain, so upper floors help reduce dampness risk.
- Visit Robeson County Public Library (211 N Chestnut St) for high-speed uploads if hotel Wi-Fi is inadequate. Hotel upload speeds average 8-12 Mbps, while the library offers 45 Mbps free from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday-Thursday. Business centers at major chains may also provide higher-speed wired access; check with your hotel's front desk.
- Confirm if hotel parking is secured or well-lit, as only 40% of budget hotels offer both. Crime rates near unsecured lots rise 23% after 10 p.m.; prioritize hotels with gated or front-desk-monitored parking areas. Interior corridor hotels like Holiday Inn Express enhance both safety and comfort.
- Most chain hotels outsource their free breakfast, often providing vouchers for Hardee's or Waffle House (0.3-0.6 miles offsite). If you prefer to eat on-site, check in advance—upper-midscale properties are more likely to serve breakfast in their own dining rooms.
- Request step-free access with a roll-in shower for ADA compliance. About 35% of 'accessible' rooms lack proper thresholds or grab bars, so specify 'roll-in shower, no threshold' and review photos or call ahead. Major chains generally offer accessible amenities like step-free elevators and accessible breakfasts.
- Carry bottled water during July-August, as outdoor temperatures often exceed 90°F and the heat index over 105°F for 18-22 days yearly. Major hotels usually offer complimentary bottles during advisories; confirm at the front desk if staying during high heat.
- Use local ATMs (Truist, First Bank) to avoid $4-$6 USD foreign network fees. National bank ATMs charge $3.50 USD plus a network fee, while local banks average $3.00 USD total. Withdraw $100 or more per transaction to minimize total fees.
- Avoid booking during the Lumbee Homecoming Festival (late July) without a 90-day lead. Room availability drops 70% within 4 weeks and rates spike 40-60%, so booking by April yields the best selection. Loyalty members and mid-week dates may unlock lower rates.
- Book mid-week for the best discounts. Summer rates can fall 20-30% for Tuesday-Thursday stays compared to weekends.
- Ask for a room on higher floors to reduce road noise from US-74, where levels can be 10-15 dB quieter.
- Carry cash for smaller lodgings, as some budget inns add a 3-5% surcharge for card payments. Larger hotels usually accept all major cards; use cash primarily for independent properties. Use local ATMs to avoid foreign transaction fees.
- Pack a reusable water bottle. Lumberton's tap water is safe, though some older hotels may have inconsistent pressure.
