Top Tips
- Book Lombard hotels 4–8 weeks in advance for the Lilac Festival weekend (first full weekend in May); properties within 10 miles (16 km) typically sell out and rates may rise by 20% or more. Confirm cancellation policies before booking in case of schedule changes.
- Use Lombard Metra station for Chicago trips to avoid daily downtown parking fees ($30–$50); choose hotels within 0.6 mile (1 km) for reliable walking access to rail. Verify train schedules if traveling early morning or late night.
- Stay at hotels on Roosevelt or Butterfield Roads near I-88 for quick interstate and shopping access; properties are within 0.2–1 mile (0.3–1.6 km) of Yorktown Center, and 2–3 miles (3–5 km) from Oakbrook Center. Confirm your planned destinations for optimal location.
- Most suburban Lombard hotels provide free onsite parking; airport shuttles are not guaranteed and often run limited hours. Confirm current shuttle schedules directly with your hotel before arrival.
- O’Hare International Airport (ORD) is 20–25 miles (32–40 km) north of central Lombard; typical off-peak drive times range from 25–40 minutes. Confirm ride availability during late-night or early-morning hours.
- Expect tolls on the Ronald Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88) bordering Lombard to the south; check the Illinois Tollway cost calculator for up-to-date rates before driving.
- Central DuPage Hospital (Winfield) is the nearest major medical center, located about 10–15 minutes by car from central Lombard. Save the address and local emergency numbers prior to travel.
- Request accessible room types or step-free access in advance; many Lombard hotels are low-rise with surface parking, but elevator or ramp access may vary. Contact your hotel to confirm locations of accessible features.
