Pros +
- THe history, the beautiful craftsmanship, the cleanliness and the friendly staff. Restaurant was also excellent
- I loved that it was located on a state park. It was a beautiful setting with lots of history. I wish we were staying longer and had more time to enjoy the amenities. We were there for a graduation and didn't have a ton of extra time.
- This is an older hotel that maintains its unique charm with very good service. The staff is accommodating and serviceable. Had a lovely meal. The filet mignon was really good, lovely meal. So enjoyed my stay.
Cons -
- It was a very pleasant experience for me. Even on a holiday weekend things worked perfectly.
- Restaurant was short staffed. And no TV, but there was no TV in the "30s
- Service in the dining room was very slow, both at dinner and at breakfast. Perhaps they are short-staffed?

The 1930's type atmosphere. Expected "Al Capone" and his entourage to come walking down the stairs. The old fashioned elevator. The painted lobby ceilings. A truly great experience.
Restaurant was short staffed. And no TV, but there was no TV in the "30s
The lodge is magnificent, as are the grounds. We enjoyed the trails and the ranger-led boat trip exceeded our expectations.
Service in the dining room was very slow, both at dinner and at breakfast. Perhaps they are short-staffed?
The hotel gives a unique experience with the charm and fixtures and fittings of the era in which it was built - evocative of a bigone age. Wonderful location at Wakulla Springs, near unmissable boat tours and trails and friendly and helpful staff.
Reflecting the era in which it was built it feels like you are staying as a guest in an upmarket country house so some fittings are older, sound proofing is not perfect. Overall the experience is more than worth it.
The area was beautiful. The park service river tour was awesome!
The hotel was run down. No hot water for evening shower...had to wait until am for shower. Restaurant was closed due to â∠Âstaffing miscommunicationââ¬ÃÂ. Had to drive 30 miles for a place to dine. Too bad...needs management overhaul.
Very secluded place to rest and enjoy nature.
Hot water was not working during the two-day stay.
The grounds are spectacular! The dinner meal was excellent. Staff were accommodating and very helpful.
The room was extremely dated. Accessibility, for those with mobility difficulties, is a challenge but workable. If carrying luggage or any stairs must be avoided, it must be identified at check in. There are small sets of stairs in numerous locations.
The authentic time period of the 1940's. The food was great and the 1940's music playing was delightful. The piano playing in the Lobby in the evening was so relaxing. Love the old elevator and the history of the place. Wakulla Springs boat ride. GREAT!
The room was a little warm, but they had a fan that made it comfortable. No contact with the outside world was a little different--no wifi connections; no TV or radio. This was OK because that is the way it would have been in the 1940's.
The history of this old inn.
The bathroom needs to be upgraded. I think I could have grown mushrooms in the corner of the shower. It was very dry and very little effort was made to water the lawn or flowers.
Historic feel
Desk staff and restaurant staff seemed to have other concerns primary to guest services
Friendliness of the staff and location. Restaurant was very good
This is a great place to take your family. Good place to relax nope no TV in the rooms. They do have great Wi-Fi service. We love this place. I have been going here since I was a kid. Now I take my kids there. Four stars.
The hotel had a lot of character and we loved the history and feel of it. It was beautiful!
I would bring something to do, like board games or something. We played checkers and some of the games provided but there didn't seem to be a whole lot to do after dark and after the swimming area closed. We enjoyed our stay though and it was as expected.
This lodge is a step back to "old Florida." If these walls could only talk... The staff could not have been more polite and accommodating. The spring is awesome. You really feel like you are away from the 21st century hustle and bustle.
Setting and atmosphere. And the boat tour
Extra clean rooms.
The restaurant
Interesting and clean
the boat ride and the springs
service is atrocious.
