Old school appeal. Lots of deep dark colors and a feeling of a den... even a library on the premises and lots of reading chairs to lounge in. Great grounds down to the river. Friendly manager but not overly friendly - personable.

Cons -

The blind in the room didn't go all the way down so the bottom foot of the window was uncovered
Not really! Room was small but perfectly good for one person. Shower took a long time to get hot.
