I had a very late planned check-in. The hotel called to check on me after a delay and was supportive in arriving very late. My numbers above are based on the known star level of hotel. Sandyland Reef Inn is a great value

It was much more run down than I thought it would be. The pool was a huge dirt hole (literally) and there were people screaming outside at 4:30 in the morning.

It's the cheapest room in Lompoc. As such they have no incentive to improve the condition of the motel - at least I had hot water in my shower today. But it was too hot and couldn't be adjusted. Exterior doors to stairs don't open w room keys.

It was prime location, and very clean.

The staff were amazing. Very courteous, helpful, and just delightful to talk to. They are good ambassadors for Solvang and the hotel. We also liked having the bikes available. And finally (this is a funny one) I loved the sink.

The hotel is well maintained and staff was very friendly prior to checking in with regards to splitting payment for 2 rooms.

I got a wheelchair accessible room (not a problem), but then, the bathroom smelled so terrible I waited in the office for the maintenance man. They did end up switching out my room and the 2nd room was fine.

Checking in was smooth and easy. Staff was friendly.

This motel is used by the unhoused population when they can afford a place to stay, so for that I am grateful. As a person coming into SB for work it was not ideal, lots of the neighbor's doors opening and closing all night long, I didn't get much sleep.
