The front desk staff was very kind and helpful. The pool was nice, too. Because it¿s not as close to the very center of town it is quieter and closer to more places locals go - like the supermarket. It¿s about a 15-20 minute walk to the airport.
Close to the airport. Check-in and check-out were easy. Grounds are lovely. Nice pool. Rooms were clean and spacious. Limited option free breakfast. Staff was excellent. English spoken. Great A/C. Great value for price.
Really solid value. It's a pleasant hotel that'clean and well kept. The staff are helpful and friendly. The room had great air conditioning and was very clean. There are a couple of taco restaurants within walking distance and a grocery store close by.

Where to stay in Cozumel International Airport
Learn about the top neighbourhoods of Cozumel International Airport
There are really two Cozumels. The first is a shopper's haven, and bargain-hunting cruise ship passengers spend hours in the port town of San Miguel strolling along a waterfront promenade lined with charming shops and eateries. The second is a more traditional version of paradise, and this mostly undeveloped island has pristine beaches, isolated lagoons and flower-filled jungles. And the waters are so clear that divers from all over the world come to experience the dazzling coral reefs.

Top Tips
- Reserve your Cozumel hotel at least 3-6 months in advance for high season (December-April), when occupancy regularly exceeds 90%. Early booking secures availability and better rates at major chains such as Iberostar and InterContinental. Confirm cancellation policies to maintain flexibility.
- Protect your reservation by purchasing travel insurance that specifically covers weather-related cancellations, especially during June-November hurricane season. Verify what is covered with your provider and ensure coverage includes Cozumel for peace of mind.
- Arrange airport transfers with your hotel pre-arrival or select a colectivo (shared van) at Cozumel International Airport (CZM) for a typical fare of MX$150-250 per person, about 15-20% less than a private taxi. Check the latest rates on arrival, as prices may vary.
- Reserve your rental car or scooter before arrival and verify inclusion of Mexican liability insurance, as U.S. policies do not apply in Mexico. Major rental offices are within 1 km of the airport; ask for ramp access or accessible vehicles if needed.
- Select a hotel location based on planned activities: properties are typically 4-8 km (10-20 min by taxi) from downtown San Miguel, near the ferry terminal for Playa del Carmen access, or along the west coast for calmer snorkeling spots. Review each hotel’s proximity to your top sights.
- If diving, prioritize hotels offering onsite rinse tanks, gear storage, and certified dive operator partners for streamlined access to the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef, just 1-2 km offshore. Confirm dive shop certification with PADI or NAUI before booking excursions.
- Check Wi-Fi speeds with the hotel ahead of time; even chain hotels’ free Wi-Fi can vary from 5-60 Mbps. If remote work matters, ask for speed test results or request a dedicated workspace in rooms or public areas.
- Carry Mexican Pesos (MXN) for taxis, street vendors, and tipping. Hotels and restaurants often accept USD and major cards, but exchange rates are commonly 5-10% less favorable than official rates. Use local ATMs for best conversion rates.
- Expect a 16% VAT plus local lodging and environmental taxes that typically add 3-4% to your room bill, collected at check-in or check-out. Ask the hotel to confirm your total estimated charges in MXN before arrival to avoid billing surprises.
- Tip bellhops MX$20-40 (about $1-2 USD) per bag, housekeeping MX$20-60 per day, and restaurant staff 10-15% of the bill if not included. For dive crews, customary gratuity is MX$100-300 ($15 USD) per diver, per day.
- Use only bottled or filtered water, as tap water in Cozumel is not potable. Most hotels supply complimentary bottles or filtered dispensers on each floor. Verify water availability during check-in to avoid dehydration.
- Apply reef-safe sunscreen that is free of oxybenzone and octinoxate, required for marine excursions. Local stores and some hotels stock approved products; using these helps protect Cozumel’s coral reef, just minutes from the shore.
- Secure passports and valuables in your in-room safe, a standard amenity at international chains. This minimizes risk of petty theft, especially in busier tourist areas or when exploring downtown San Miguel.
- Be ready to present your passport at check-in, as hotels often photocopy it and may pre-authorize a credit card for a refundable deposit. Request secure handling of documents and cards if concerned about privacy.
- Consult your hotel’s concierge or front desk for vetted recommendations on excursions, accessible dining, or reputable dive operators, avoiding street solicitors or high-pressure tour pitches. If seeking accessible options, request tailored guidance.
- Learn a few basic Spanish phrases such as 'gracias' (thank you) and 'por favor' (please). While most hotel and tourism staff speak English, using Spanish phrases fosters positive interactions with local staff.
- Follow marine park rules when diving or snorkeling: maintain a 2 m (6 ft) distance from coral, and do not feed wildlife. These guidelines safeguard the Mesoamerican Barrier Reef and are actively enforced, ask for a copy of park rules at the dive shop.
- Explore beyond hotel restaurants to sample local specialties such as fresh ceviche or cochinita pibil. Plan for Cozumel Carnival (late winter) events about 10 minutes by taxi from major hotels, for cultural immersion and live performances.
