Location! Right on the beach and nicely decorated. Staff was super friendly.
The bed and breakfast feel. The staff was super friendly and helpful.
The location of the hotel is great - right across the street from the beach. There are several places to grab lunch and dinner within walking distance. Hotel doesn't have a parking lot but there is free street parking on the streets surrounding the hotel.

Location near the beach
We enjoyed the evening staff so much. They were so hospitable and very kind to my grandchildren.
Terrific visit. Staff was very friendly. Room was great, although it was small. A/C worked great. Porch was very nice -- comfortable chairs/couches and it was a great place to sit and read a book. Location is great -- just a block away from the beach!

Said it was 10 minutes from the stone pony and it turned out to 18 but it got the job done.
Nothing, the room the grounds were disgustingly dirty and unkept

the location and the courtesy of the hotel staff and valet
The hotel room itself is too small to be considered seriously. The bathroom doesn't have a proper door (closet louver doors instead) or exhaust, and the room does not have a coffee maker. Overall, we would not stay here again, and it is not worth the cost
Great location, beautiful lobby, good amenities. Loved the live music and the lobby area, along with drinks at the bar and a great working space.

The corner room facing the ocean was great. Very spacious.
The location was excellent. However, the look and feel of the room was very dated. No, microwave in room. Thought it was outrageously overpriced for what I got.
It is very close to the beach. Loved that we could walk over and back quickly.

Very clean. Housekeeping came and cleaned up/made the beds during our stay. Close to beach and boardwalk. Staff was polite and helpful. Quiet area. No rowdiness or late night loud noise. Private beach was nice and very calm and quiet.
Recently updated room, super clean, new flat screen TV. The location directly on the beach is excellent. They include daily wrist bands for access to a private beach directly in front of the hotel - so much better than paying to use Jenkinsons.

Top Tips
- Book your summer hotel stay well in advance, ideally 3 to 6 months ahead. Rates surge and rooms sell out quickly from Memorial Day through Labor Day in this popular Jersey Shore destination. Compare flexible rate options; some chains offer early booking discounts of 10-15% during summer.
- Pre-arrange your ground transportation from Monmouth Executive Airport (KBLM). This small general-aviation airport has limited taxi and rideshare presence, so consider a rental car, hotel shuttle, or private car service for the 15-20 minute drive to Belmar. Check if your hotel offers complimentary shuttle service; some local chains provide direct pick-up with advance notice.
- Confirm parking availability and any associated fees directly with your hotel before booking. Street parking is limited in Belmar, especially near the beach, and on-site hotel parking can cost an additional $15-$20 per day. If you require accessible or oversized vehicle parking, confirm availability directly before booking.
- Ask your hotel about beach badges and direct access to the beach. Belmar requires seasonal beach badges for access to borough beaches; many hotels bundle or sell them, simplifying your entry. Many hotels offer beach badge packages that save up to $8 per person per day versus local purchase.
- Confirm the total price at booking, including any resort fees and local occupancy taxes, to avoid surprises. New Jersey's state sales tax is 6.625%, and local tourism taxes can raise the total to approximately 14-15% of your room rate. Request a detailed confirmation email or screenshot with all taxes and resort fees itemized at booking.
- Check recent guest reviews, focusing on comments about air conditioning performance, cleanliness, and noise levels. Older shore properties in Belmar can vary widely, and reviews highlight common issues. Look for reviews from the last 8-12 weeks, especially regarding room renovations and staff responsiveness.
- Confirm the Wi-Fi speed and available business amenities if you plan to work during your stay. Bandwidth and facilities like meeting rooms or printers vary significantly among shore hotels. If you need strong internet for video calls, request an updated business suite or confirm speed with the front desk before arrival.
- Plan for summer crowds and potential noise, requesting your room location accordingly. For quieter nights, ask for an inland or higher-floor room away from boardwalk and street activity, or secure an ocean-view room early if that is a priority. If noise sensitivity is a concern, request a non-adjoining room and verify window type (double-pane vs single) for added quiet.
- Review the hotel's cancellation and weather/refund policies carefully. Tropical storms can occur in late summer and fall, so understanding the rebooking or cancellation policy is important. Request written confirmation of the hotel's rebooking policy if adverse weather is forecasted.
- Be aware of standard U.S. tipping norms for hotel staff. Common practice includes tipping bellhops $1-$2 per bag, valet attendants $2-$5 per service, and housekeeping $2-$5 per night, left daily. For accessibility support (such as luggage assistance or extra amenities), the standard tip applies per service provided.
- Utilize the concierge or front desk staff for valuable local recommendations. They can suggest beachfront restaurants, surf schools, bike rentals, local events, and where to buy beach badges. Many chains partner with local attractions, so ask about exclusive guest discounts or event passes at check-in.
- Prepare a valid government-issued photo identification and a credit card for check-in. Most U.S. hotels require a government photo ID and a credit card for incidentals, and some properties have minimum age requirements (commonly 18 or 21) for the primary guest. For guests under 21, check if major chains in Belmar allow 18+ check-in with a valid ID.
