Best at this location was your staff! From my first welcome to my final goodbye. Your staff are friendly welcoming and so helpful. This includes cleaning staff and helpful breakfast team and front desk as well.

It was an older motel but amazingly well kept. You couldn’t have gotten a cleaner room, and the beds were so comfortable. We don’t usually stay in Days Inn but this one was a very pleasant surprise. I’d stay again if coming this way.
Staff helped me lift up my crippled wife back into the bed, whom had fallen into the floor while I was gone on an errand. The two housekeepers went above and beyond normal work, and hopefully the Days Inn could give them bonuses.
The hotel location is convenient, near coffee shops and restaurants.

The staff is extremely polite and professional. The location is also perfect, with an added security bonus being next to the sheriffs department.

Nothing was acceptable. Waited almost 2 hours to check in after reservations made 2 months prior to date, no housekeeping the entire 4 days we stayed, we had to get from front desk, clean towels, toilet paper, paper towels, soap, shampoo, everything
Great views. Big rooms. Fully stocked kitchen with vessels. Great hot breakfast. Friendly staff.
Clean, modern, well-appointed room. Excellent blackout curtains. Well-equipped mini kitchen in the room. The HVAC unit is quiet and runs perfectly. Good breakfast selections and opens early at 6:30 AM for a quick start of the day.

Beautiful mountain resort hotel. Nice bar/restaurant.
It was an amazing experience. We enjoyed the feel of the Hotel - a real "Hotel" with a door key, fire places, and history. The Hotel has an incredible history: over a century old, an actual tower, and Rebecca - If you know, you know.
The history, the location, the curnishings, staff accommodating.

Top Tips
- Book 2 to 6 weeks in advance for weekends and holidays, as hotel rooms fill quickly during peak periods such as summer (June-August) and for local events. Rates often increase closer to arrival, so check each property’s cancellation policy before booking.
- Reserve your rental car in advance for reliable transport, since Alamogordo has limited public transit and spotty rideshare coverage. Having your own vehicle is essential for exploring White Sands National Park, which is 15-20 minutes away by car, and nearby sites.
- Select your hotel based on your main destination. For White Sands National Park access (15-20 minutes by car), consider hotels west of downtown or near US-70. If traveling for Holloman Air Force Base, hotels near the base entrances minimize commute time.
- Request a room away from Main Street or next to the Holloman Air Force Base runway to reduce exposure to jet or road noise, which is a common guest concern in reviews. Confirm your room location at check-in to ensure a quieter stay.
- Before booking, verify the total nightly cost, including New Mexico state and local occupancy taxes, which are typically 5-10%. Ask about any additional resort fees or parking fees, since these can vary by hotel.
- Present a valid government-issued photo ID, such as a driver’s license or passport, and the credit card used for booking at check-in. Most hotels place a hold for incidentals, which is commonly refunded at checkout.
- Check Wi-Fi speeds and availability of business amenities like printers or meeting rooms if you plan to work remotely, as internet quality can vary in rural areas such as Alamogordo. Verify specific needs with the hotel before arrival.
- Confirm the hotel’s pet policy and any fees or size restrictions before booking, as requirements vary by property. Many hotels allow pets, but advance notice is usually required.
- Ask the hotel front desk staff for local tips, such as current White Sands National Park conditions, sunrise or sunset recommendations, and places serving authentic New Mexican cuisine, especially green chile dishes.
- Pack sunscreen, hats, and layered clothing for the high desert climate. Daytime summer temperatures often exceed 90°F (32°C), while nights can drop below 50°F (10°C). Many hotels offer laundry facilities for extended stays.
- Non-military visitors to Holloman Air Force Base generally need a valid government ID and may be required to pass a background check or arrange for an escort. Contact base authorities or your event organizer at least 2 weeks ahead to confirm access requirements.
- Review the local events calendar, such as the Alamogordo Air Show or White Sands Balloon Festival, as major events can quickly sell out hotels and increase rates. Book early and check your cancellation window for flexibility.
- Choose hotels with free breakfast or in-room kitchenettes to save time and money, especially for early visits to White Sands (the park opens at sunrise in summer). Dining options are spread throughout Alamogordo, so plan meals in advance.
