the location
Hotel was nicely updated. Room was clean. Great location near restaurants and train station. Also convenient because our tour to Amalfi and Pompeii picked us up right in front hotel!!
Front desk staff at Star hotel very uncooperative. Such a mistake is unacceptable. Very angry and very disappointed. Would not book again.

The staff was exceptional particularly in the restaurant.
We have stayed at this hotel many times in the past. We like the location and quality of the hotel, decor, staff, breakfast.

For the price and location this place was perfect for me a male solo traveler. However, some might be put off by the neighborhood as the area around the bus and train terminal is dirty, gritty, with a lot of homeless. But for me location was important.
friendly and helpful staff, made suggestions for travel and called taxi for me.
Staff were good, room clean . Tours started close to hotel

The location across from the castle and the water view was the best thing about the hotel
Location was nice with a view of the water. It was also in close walking distance to many restaurants.

Quiet, clean, next to train station. Breakfast offered a wide number of items.
The people that work there are welcoming and try to help and understand English. We liked that it was close to the railway station. The windows were amazing and kept out the street noise which was tremendous if you opened the windows.
I liked the fact that the hotel is connected to the central train station and metro.

Location was the only good part of this hotel.
Great receptionist and being able to walk to the airport was great but the hotel was otherwise below average at best.
Location was good but hotel was like a roadside motel in the US. Only 2 star at best.

The hotel let us store our baggage until check in. So we did not lose valuable time. Always clean towels and beds made while we were out of the room.

Location, amazing views and rooms and service
Lovely hotel. Wonderful character. Excellent front desk staff. Very clean. Loved the location. Had a slight problem with the TV which was solved quickly by a delightful man from engineering. Good Wi-Fi
The view was gorgeous in the sea view room and the location right by the water was excellent! Helpful in arranging cab driver to pick up and pricing for the cab ride.

the location was perfect. the staff was very accomodating. the breakfast was plentiful and the hotel was very quiet. a nice place to come home to after spending all day in crazy traffic and rain!
Their breakfast (included) was the best we¿ve had (by far) in our two weeks in Italy. Fresh pastries! Also, our room had a full balcony (large enough for a table with a couple of chairs *plus* two loungers! The view from the balcony was fabulous!
Check in staff friendly and helpful. Very well designed, looks like a lot of thought went in to each space. Clean and modern. The breakfast was much more than I would have expected.

Top Tips
- Book hotels 3-4 months ahead for peak season. Naples hotel rates can rise by 20-30% from June to August and during Easter or Christmas. Advance bookings secure lower prices and better availability, especially for top-rated properties.
- Expect a city tourist tax of €2-€5 (approx. $2-$5 USD) per person, per night, depending on hotel rating. This is paid at check-out and may add 5-10% to your total cost - factor into your budget before finalizing your stay.
- Consider staying in Vomero for a quieter experience. This residential area connects to the center by funicular lines, and comparable hotels here are typically 15-20% less expensive than central Naples properties.
- If working remotely, check hotel Wi-Fi speeds in advance. Typical speeds range from 10-50 Mbps, but guest reviews may clarify recent performance. Prioritize hotels advertising dedicated business centers for more reliable service.
- Many historic areas in Naples enforce Limited Traffic Zones (ZTL). If arriving by car, check with your hotel about parking options and necessary permits to avoid fines of €80-€200 (approx. $86-$215 USD).
- Tap water in Naples is generally safe and often mineral-rich, though some travelers prefer bottled water. Expect to pay €0.50-€1.50 (approx. $0.54-$1.62 USD) per liter from local shops.
- June through September, ensure your hotel offers functioning air conditioning. Summer highs often exceed 30°C (86°F). Not all historic properties include this amenity, so verify before booking for comfort.
- Immerse in local culture by staying in neighborhoods like Chiaia or the Spanish Quarter. Hotels here deliver a 10-15% cost savings and offer authentic dining and experiences compared to properties near major attractions.
- Learning basic Italian phrases like "Buongiorno" (Good morning) or "Il conto, per favore" (The bill, please) helps improve service interactions, particularly in smaller or independent hotels.
