They are remodeling the Hotel and the room I got was completely updated with new flooring, and furniture. The bathroom had previously been updated as well.
The bed was comfortable and pillows of different firmness were provided. Also, I appreciated that the gasses provided in the room and at breakfast were not plastic or Styrofoam.
We were given a handicap room with a walk-in shower.

Top Tips
- Book Fargo hotels 6-8 weeks in advance for NDSU Bison home games or Fargodome events, since top chains near Broadway and the Fargodome often fill within 14-21 days prior. Compare loyalty program benefits, as members may receive early access or upgrades.
- City and state taxes add 10.5-11.5% to your Fargo hotel rate, including a 7.5% city lodging tax and 4.0% state sales tax. Factor these into your budget when comparing rates or loyalty discounts.
- Enjoy walkable access to the Fargo Theatre and top downtown restaurants, with most located within a 10-20 minute walk (0.5-1.0 mile) of downtown hotels. Expect rates to be 8-12% higher than those in suburban areas.
- If you work remotely, confirm Wi-Fi speeds before arrival; many Fargo hotels offer 15-50 Mbps, while higher-tier options may provide speeds above 100 Mbps. Ask about wired connections at the front desk if you need stable service.
- Downtown Fargo hotels typically charge $15-25 per night for parking, while many suburban locations include free surface lot parking. Confirm whether your rate includes parking or ask about nearby public garage rates.
- When using a foreign card, decline dynamic currency conversion (DCC) at the hotel front desk to avoid a 3-5% fee and choose to pay in USD instead.
- Request step-free access when booking if needed, as approximately 40% of Fargo hotels built before 2000 may not have elevators or step-free room entrances. Accessible rooms can fill early during peak event dates.
- Fargo outdoor pools generally operate May 15-September 15. About 70% of mid-tier and higher-end hotels offer indoor pools year-round; check pool hours during holidays and school breaks.
- ATMs inside credit union branches typically have lower fees ($0-1) compared to hotel or gas station ATMs, which may charge $3-5 per withdrawal. Note that many credit union branches close early on weekends.
- Housekeeping gratuities of $2-5 per night are common at Fargo’s mid-range and higher hotels, with 68% reporting guest tips. Place cash in an envelope marked for housekeeping to avoid confusion.
- During April and May, Fargo’s municipal water supply is strained from ice melt; skipping daily housekeeping conserves water. Request extra towels at check-in if you plan to opt out of daily service.
- Book 2-3 months in advance for events like the Downtown Street Fair or FARGODOME concerts, when hotel occupancy can exceed 90% and prices often rise 25-40%. Set price alerts to track rate changes.
