The best part of this hotel was its location on the beach with a Tiki Bar. It has an Old Florida feel. It was located just a few blocks from Flagler St in downtown area with restaurants and shopping. We could ride our bikes there.
Wonderful location
The location was amazing. Right on the beach with a bar on-site and a pool. Parking was easy, right outside the room and the room itself was MORE than big enough. Having a stove and full-size fridge was very nice too.

Very friendly and accommodating
Staff, excellant. Willingness to help w/out any questions. Including the housekeeping staff, great job. Highly recommend. Thank you for making our stay enjoyable. Definitely be back.
The hotel is clean and lovely along Flagler Ave. While you do have to pay $22 for parking it is wonderful to not have to think about where your vehicle is or if it is getting towed, well with it. We stayed here in 2019; same today. Glad we stayed.

Welcoming staff and quaint B&B feel.
The building is very old and full of history, yet it is very clean and beautifully preserved. The staff was lovely and the Mermaid Cafe next door is amazing!
The location was lovely and wish we could have stayed longer to have enjoyed it more. The no -private balcony over the pool was nice and robes are a great touch. Nice size tv.

It's in the town I like.
There is nothing that we liked about this "hotel" except it was beachfront. Without any front desk or staff, I do not feel that this should be under the category of "hotel".
Absolutely the worst experience that I left and went to Spring Hill This horrible hotel still charged me for one day that I did not stay The room smells and moldy The floor was rough There absolutely nothing good to say about this place period

Them refunding my money at the front desk without too much of a hassle after the check in host was one of the rudest obnoxious people I have ever dealt with in doing a business transaction

I thought I was getting a city view room, but, when I looked out onto the balcony, there was the ocean!!!! Gorgeous! Also, the breakfast area looks over the beach and the pool. The breakfast was delicious!

The location was great!
Free Internet. Free parking . Very clean rooms. Pet friendly. Very Accommodating and friendly staff. Location and view of the ocean side room was fantastic!. There are no coffee makers in the room. Continental breakfast is packaged products.
we love being right on the beach, with a patio to the pool and we love it being pet friendly. Recommend. We have stayed here before and enjoyed our stay both times. If you are travelling with a pet, this is the place to stay in Daytona Beach Shores.

This hotel is on beachside. That is the only positive thing I would say about this hotel. It¿s very old, dated and lots of things that need fixing.

Top Tips
- Book hotel stays 3 to 6 weeks early for Daytona events like Bike Week (March) or NASCAR Speedweeks (February). Rates typically rise as rooms sell out, with prices up to 25% higher in the week before major events. Booking early ensures better availability and can help you secure advance deals at select hotels.
- Prioritize hotels with onsite parking if staying on or near Flagler Avenue, as municipal pay stations and street parking are limited and may add nightly fees of $15 or more. Some hotel chains bundle parking in amenity fees—verify whether accessible parking is available and check inclusions to avoid unexpected charges.
- Expect sea-turtle lighting rules from May 1 to October 31. Beachfront hotels use shielded amber lights and may restrict balcony lighting to protect endangered wildlife under strictly enforced regulations. Ask about blackout curtains or light-blocking drapes if you need nighttime illumination for accessibility or comfort, and confirm with the property regarding accessible lighting features.
- Treat June to November as hurricane season and choose refundable rates or purchase trip interruption insurance to reduce the impact of evacuations or hotel closures, most likely in August and September. Some hotels waive change fees for official weather events. Confirm cancellation terms with your hotel before booking.
- Select hotels near lifeguarded beach access points, as New Smyrna Beach is known for high-surf conditions and reports the nation's highest rate of nonfatal shark bites. Stay within a 10 to 15 minute walk (0.5–1 km) of seasonally staffed lifeguard stations and check posted rip-current warnings before swimming. Guests with children or reduced mobility should confirm availability of step-free routes and accessible beach equipment.
- Confirm your total room price includes county and municipal 'bed' taxes and any added cleaning fees, as local taxes in Florida may add over 12% to the base rate. Major hotel chains typically list these fees at checkout, but always double-check the booking summary for unlisted charges. Download your confirmation email, which should itemize mandatory fees for reference at check-in.
- If you are a surfer or traveling with boards, verify board storage options and any fees before arrival. Chain hotels may offer secure storage rooms or outdoor rinse stations, while smaller properties may prohibit boards in rooms or elevators. Ask at booking if storage is included and whether insurance or damage protection is available for your watersports equipment.
- Plan airport transfers based on drive time: Daytona Beach International Airport is 25 to 40 minutes from New Smyrna Beach, while Orlando International Airport is 60 to 75 minutes away. Many hotel chains can arrange transportation or accessible taxis upon request—contact your hotel to confirm available options and estimated costs, and notify them 48 hours in advance if you require wheelchair-accessible transport.
