I come to the Atlantis to escape stressors of work life and float aimlessly for days on the amazing lazy/rapids river. But the staff from check in, to life guards, to room cleaning are all very welcoming and beyond courteous.
Very friendly staff, clean, well maintained.
The beach areas and the pools and slides. The grounds were beautiful!!

This hotel was very clean and right on the beach. The waterpark area is great for kids and families. Having and adults only swim area away from the waterpark was great to have a little quite time and relaxation.
ALL ROOMS FACE THE.OCEAN. Cruise ships do 180 spins right in front of the room before backing into its dock. (Mostly out of view.)

Been coming here for 25 plus years. Property is deteriorating and although staff is sometimes better with customer service, some ¿policies¿ are hard to overcome and not in line with other resorts at this price point.
The location was on the best beach at the resort.

I like that it was located directly next door to a better hotel with clubs & casino!
Location and the staff. Everyone was so kind and caring.
Location to the Baha Mar for tournament. Loved the "strong" drinks, beautiful beach, comfortable room with great views from almost all rooms! Many chairs for lounging, activities by entertainment throughout day, and food stand by pool with good food!

Other than being somewhat close to harbour side, the marina everything was bad
The location is a short walk away from the marina area, where there are a lot of restaurants. We also loved how quiet the hotel was. It gives a very personable and chill vibes. The staff was very friendly and responsive when we needed something.

Top Tips
- Reserve Nassau hotels 90 to 120 days in advance for stays from December to April to access rates 15 to 30% below last-minute bookings. Last-minute rates, especially within 30 days, typically rise by 40%. Book early for festival periods to avoid price surges.
- When paying by card at hotels, choose Bahamian dollars (BSD) to avoid Dynamic Currency Conversion charges that can add 4 to 7% to U.S. dollar transactions. The BSD is pegged 1:1 with the U.S. dollar, ensuring consistent pricing.
- For step-free access, select hotels on Cable Beach, where about 70% of properties provide step-free routes to rooms and pools. Many downtown hotels, like Graycliff Hotel, may have 12 or more entrance stairs. Always confirm accessibility features before booking.
- All-inclusive resorts such as Sandals Royal Bahamian and Breezes add mandatory resort fees of 10 to 12%, covering beach attendants and non-motorized water sports. These fees are not always shown upfront; review booking details for the full charge.
- Give preference to hotels with Bahamas Tourism Clean Seas Certification (BTCOE) to support sustainability. Certified properties reduce single-use plastic by at least 60% and use an average of 280L of water per room-night compared to 450L at non-certified hotels.
- Although Nassau’s tap water meets WHO standards, about 15 to 20% of sensitive travelers experience mild stomach upset. Carry bottled water, which usually costs BSD $1.50 to $2.50 per liter, to stay comfortable.
- During Junkanoo Summer Festival (June to August), Atlantis room rates tend to rise 50 to 65%, with parade noise continuing until 3 AM for seaward-facing rooms. Book at least five months in advance to lock in lower base rates.
- At upscale Nassau hotels, the standard tip is 15 to 20% for service staff. Housekeeping tips average BSD $15 per night. Tipping below 15% may lower service priority at premium properties; verify if service charges are already included.
- Median hotel Wi-Fi speed in Nassau is 25 to 35 Mbps, which supports video calls and remote work. Cable Beach Club Resort provides over 80 Mbps in guest rooms. Only about 30% of hotels list business centers, so always verify connectivity before arrival.
- Use ATMs at Prince Charles Shopping Centre for lower surcharges than those near straw markets. Onsite bank ATMs (Scotiabank, RBC) charge a flat BSD $3 per withdrawal. Withdraw at least BSD $300 each time to minimize per-use fees.
- Power outages affect about 40% of Nassau hotels during hurricane season (June to November). Hotels like Graycliff and Baha Mar have 24/7 backup generators. Confirm generator availability if you have medical or work needs.
- Scooter rentals are BSD $60 to $80 per day but often exclude liability coverage for non-residents, with 68% of accident claims denied. Fines for uninsured use can reach BSD $1,000. Consider safer, insured transit like hotel shuttles or licensed taxis.
