Location. Staffs are very helpful. I wish some more international food selection is added. Not use to too much Ecuadorian food.
Loved the location, food and amazing staff! Rooms were very clean and comfortable.

The spectacular service and genuinely kind people that work there to take care of your every need . The food was so good and coffee beyond tasty. I highly recommend this hotel. I actually stayed twice on my very first visit to Ecuador.
I'm not a happy customer with this hotel, my first day the room air-conditioned was not working shoot down 3 times the same night, the cost of food very expense and the room smell very bad. I tried to use their iron and burned my pant.
Our flight was 4 hours late, they sent someone from the hotel to pick us up promptly. Check in was easy. Staff spoke English very well. All were very polite and helpful. Rooms were clean. Buffett was amazing. Mall within walking distance.

Top Tips
- Book Guayaquil hotels 3 to 6 weeks in advance for Carnival (February/March) and the October 9 city holiday to avoid typical 20-50% price increases and limited availability. Major hotel chains sometimes offer flexible cancellation or early booking rates—verify details before booking and check hotel event calendars for peak dates.
- Select hotels in Puerto Santa Ana to stay within 200-1,000 m of the Malecón 2000 promenade, with options for river views or walking access to sites such as Museo Antropológico. Many hotels here offer shuttle or concierge service to central business areas, with driving times of about 10-20 minutes.
- Consider Samborondón properties for gated resort amenities and secure parking, with a typical 15-30 minute transfer to central Guayaquil depending on traffic. Larger hotel chains in this district sometimes provide airport transfers or business lounges—confirm with the property before booking.
- Arrange hotel-provided or bank-affiliated taxis after dark, as petty theft risks increase after sunset. Many top hotels in Guayaquil coordinate trusted taxis and often have secure ATM facilities or safe withdrawal guidance at their concierge desk.
- Carry small US dollar bills for markets and taxis, as Ecuador uses the US dollar. Most major hotels accept credit cards, but small vendors prefer cash; request smaller denominations at the hotel front desk if available. Be prepared for ATM surcharges of about $3-$6 plus your bank’s fee, so withdraw larger amounts when safe.
- Drink only bottled or boiled water, and use it for brushing teeth per CDC guidance for Ecuador. Leading hotels commonly provide complimentary bottled water in rooms at check-in or upon request—ask at reception if not visible.
- Request explicit step-free access or an accessible ground-floor room when booking, as many boutique and colonial hotels in areas like Las Peñas do not have elevators and often use cobbled staircases. Contact the hotel in advance to confirm accessibility options such as ramp access or visual alarms—larger hotels are more likely to offer these features.
- Book major hotels in Puerto Santa Ana and Samborondón for backup power and reliable business Wi-Fi; most list generators and business centers for continuous service. Chains may also offer 24-hour support or meeting room reservations—check hotel websites or apps for service guarantees.
- Expect a standard 10% service charge added to restaurant and hotel bills across Ecuador. For porters, a typical tip is $1-$2 in cash. Some hotel loyalty programs offer points or benefits for restaurant and bar spending, or may waive service charges at select properties.
- Choose hotels near the Malecón 2000 or major arterial roads to shorten emergency response times for hospitals and police. Many top hotels offer printed maps or mobile apps listing the nearest clinics and emergency contacts—ask at the front desk or concierge.
