The people working here at The Julius were incredible. Amazing location, rooms, breakfast, hotel. Thank you ! will stay again next time in Prague !
room pretty comfortable, and nice decoration
I loved it. First class hotel. Great design and great vibe. Reminiscent of the early 90s NYC boutique hotels. The staff were top notch: generous, kind, intelligent, and knowledgable.

Quiero felicitar la atención de la recepción, en general. Y en particular al esmero de quien cubría turno a las 6 a.m del 5/7/25 por ayudarnos con adelantar pedido de taxi, y con la búsqueda del anden del tren.

Super close to airport
The hotel is very close to the airport terminal, which is very convenient.
There was a cancelled flight when we were checking in and despite lots of upset people needing rooms, the staff remained calm and professional. They apologized for those with reservations having to wait, and really made me feel like a valued customer.

Everything was great that was within their control. They gave me a room on an upper floor as requested. The breakfast was the best out of the 3 hotels I stayed in while in Prague. They held my luggage for me all day.
Proximity to the metro, good selection for breakfast.
Everything..this is the perfect place to stay...the most we liked was the breakfast...its very complete...

Top Tips
- Book your Prague hotel 60-90 days before arrival to secure rates 15-25% lower than last-minute bookings. Many major hotel chains offer early booking discounts and flexible cancellation policies, making advance reservations more practical if your plans may change.
- Decline Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) when using your card; paying in Czech Koruna (CZK) helps you avoid 3.8-5.2% hidden fees. Most reputable hotels and restaurants accept international cards, but confirm with the front desk before payment.
- Consider staying in Vinohrady or Žižkov, where equivalent 4-star hotels cost 30-40% less than in Old Town and are only a 12-18 minute metro ride from Old Town Square. Both neighborhoods are popular with locals and expats and offer vibrant dining, nightlife, and modern amenities at many chain hotels.
- Request step-free access early, as just 28% of historic hotels in Prague 1 have elevators due to pre-1918 building structures. International brands here are more likely to offer modern accessibility features; contact the hotel's accessibility desk or request accessible rooms online.
- Do not expect tourist tax refunds for hotel stays. The Czech Republic applies a flat 21% VAT to accommodations, and some hotels add a non-refundable 15 CZK (approx. $0.65 USD) city fee per night per person. Always review your reservation summary for a full breakdown of taxes and fees before confirming your booking.
- Use free Prague Public Wi-Fi in parks such as Letná or Stromovka, where upload speeds average 18-22 Mbps and may outperform many hotel connections. For sensitive online activities or greater security, ask your hotel about premium or business internet packages.
- Drink Prague's tap water, which meets EU safety standards and costs about 0.03 CZK (less than $0.01 USD) per liter. Top hotels often provide water refill stations and in-room carafes to help reduce plastic waste.
- Tip 5% at upscale hotels for bell staff and concierge service, while tipping is not commonly expected at budget or mid-tier accommodations. Some establishments add a service charge to your bill, so check your final receipt or ask at check-in.
- Avoid visiting Prague 1 in August when hotel prices surge 40% or more, occupancy reaches 92%, and rates rise 45% above the Q3 average due to festival season crowds. If you come for unique events, book early and consider hotels with on-site dining or spa amenities to minimize time spent in busy areas.
- If working remotely from underground or cellar suites, confirm power reliability since historic basements are 1.2 times more likely to have outages, averaging 18 minutes per month. Business travelers may prefer rooms on higher floors or should check for business center access as a backup.
- Choose Green Hotel certified properties especially in dry months (May-August), which reduce water consumption by 35% with graywater and other eco-friendly practices. Support hotel conservation efforts by reusing towels or joining green programs available at many major chains.
- Always carry your ID when near hotels in Prague 3 (Žižkov) and Prague 7 (Vinohrady), as police conduct random checks and fines can reach 5,000 CZK (approx. $215 USD). All guests, including children, should carry a valid photo ID or a hotel-issued copy when exploring these neighborhoods.
