The character of this hotel is amazing. I love the feel of this hotel.
Lotsa character, which is missing from most sterile establishments today. Reminiscent of "Faulty Towers", in a good way.

2024.07.06-07.07I had a particularly horrific hotel stay where I was bitten by horrible bugs! When I woke up at 9 o'clock in the morning, I found that the outside of my thigh was bitten tightly by insects.
A great hotel overall! Wonderful staff! Excellent breakfast! :) It's the only hotel I stay at whenever visiting Saskatoon.

Top Tips
- Book 6 to 8 weeks ahead for University of Saskatchewan convocation in May–June or the Saskatoon Exhibition in mid-August, as these events drive up weekend demand. Top chains like Delta and Marriott near campus often reach full capacity during these periods, so booking early increases your options for preferred room types.
- Expect a 5% federal GST plus a 6% Saskatchewan PST on accommodation. All major hotels in Saskatoon display taxes at booking, but printed confirmations may show pre-tax rates—verify your full total before arrival.
- Use airport code YXE (John G. Diefenbaker Int’l) for transfers. Many central hotels, including Hilton Garden Inn and Sheraton, offer airport shuttle service or can arrange fixed-fare taxis on request; confirm details and availability in writing, especially if arriving after 22:00.
- Downtown hotels (300-800 m to major restaurants) and Nutana/Broadway neighborhoods are best for guests seeking safe, walkable access to Saskatoon's top dining. Riversdale offers lower nightly rates, but if staying there, confirm late-night lighting and secure parking, especially for solo guests.
- Most downtown hotels charge CAD 12-18 daily for parking. If visiting in winter (November-March), ask if heated parking is included and whether re-entry is unlimited, as Saskatoon nights regularly drop below -20°C.
- Major chains offer accessible rooms with roll-in showers and visual alarms, but require 48 to 72 hour advance notice for guarantees. Always secure written confirmation of specific features to meet individual needs.
- Chain hotels often provide 'quiet' or business-category floors with upgraded Wi-Fi. Request at check-in and test speeds (target 10 Mbps for video calls); bring your own hotspot if needed, as peak evening usage may slow connections.
- Direct bookings with major chains in Saskatoon qualify for loyalty perks, such as late check-out (up to 14:00) or complimentary upgrades. At historic properties operated by brands, always confirm eligible benefits prior to arrival.
- Tap water in Saskatoon meets strict Canadian standards and is safe to drink. Refill stations are common in major hotels, making bottled water optional.
- When paying at hotels, always use chip-and-PIN in Canadian dollars and decline Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) offers. Accepting DCC can raise your bill by 3–5% via exchange markups.
