Hotel Evan will be my new Eugene hotel. Top notch experience from check in to check out. Exceptionally clean facility with professional and friendly staff. It's the little extras that put hotel Evan above the rest. Exercise equipment in your room etc.

Frequently Asked Questions
Top Tips
- Book your stay at least 3-4 weeks in advance for major University of Oregon (UO) events like football games, graduation, or Hayward Field meets, as hotels within 2 miles often sell out and rates can rise by 30-60%. Confirm event schedules and compare rates across properties before booking during peak demand.
- Compare prices on hotel websites and with Online Travel Agencies (OTAs), then contact the hotel to request a rate match or extra perks like free parking or breakfast (parking is often a $15-25 daily value). Always verify offer details before confirming.
- Check for parking availability and fees, which frequently range from $15-25 per night, and confirm whether dedicated EV charging is available. Notify the front desk of your vehicle type and parking needs in advance.
- Select refundable rates or review cancellation policies carefully, as non-refundable options are common during UO events. Many hotels allow free date changes up to 24-48 hours before check-in; always verify the specific cutoff for your reservation.
- Most Eugene hotels welcome pets, typically charging a $15-40 daily fee per pet. Ask for a pet-friendly room and inquire about ground floor access and nearby green spaces, such as Alton Baker Park 0.5 miles away.
- Smoking, including cannabis, is prohibited in nearly all Eugene hotel rooms by local law. Cleaning fees for violations can be $250 or higher; check with hotel staff about designated outdoor smoking areas if needed.
- Have a U.S. government-issued photo ID (driver’s license or passport) and the card used to book ready at check-in, as these are required for all guests 18 and older. International travelers should use a passport.
- Business travelers should confirm high-speed Wi-Fi (often 50 Mbps or higher), as well as onsite business centers and meeting space options. Request access to printing or scanning in advance, since service hours may differ by hotel.
- Most hotels offer free luggage storage before check-in or after checkout, and some provide early check-in or late check-out for a fee that is usually $15-40. Notify the hotel of your arrival and departure times in advance to secure these options.
- Downtown Eugene and campus hotels are less than 0.5 miles from Lane Transit District buses and EmX rapid transit lines. Eugene Airport (EUG) is 11 miles away, so plan airport transfers via shuttle, taxi, or rideshare, especially for early or late flights.
- Confirm breakfast hours, as complimentary service is usually from 6:30 to 9:30 a.m. Ask about gluten-free, vegan, or grab-and-go options, especially if you have dietary needs or early departures.
- Outside of summer, expect frequent rain and temperatures between 35°F and 60°F (2-16°C); pack waterproof shoes and layered clothing. Ask if your room has a dryer, iron, or access to onsite laundry to dry out clothes and gear.
- Eugene is bike-friendly; ask your hotel about secure bike storage and nearby bike rental options, with trails like Ruth Bascom Riverbank Path just 0.2 miles away. Confirm storage access if bringing your own bike.
- Ask the front desk for local recommendations, including restaurants open after 9 p.m., craft breweries, or popular hikes like Spencer Butte (4 miles south). Check for Saturday Market hours or regional wine tour schedules.
- Expect local lodging and transient taxes of 10-14%, typically added at checkout. Request a full, tax-inclusive nightly rate before booking to avoid unexpected charges.
- For accessible or family travel, request ADA-accessible rooms, cribs, rollaway beds, connecting rooms, or in-room microwaves and fridges when booking. Confirm availability since quantities are limited.
- Quiet hours in Eugene hotels are usually enforced from 10 p.m. to 8 a.m. To reduce noise, especially during UO events, request a room on the top floor or away from the stadium.
- Tip bell staff $1-5 per bag, housekeepers $2-5 per night, and 15-20% for room service or onsite dining according to U.S. hospitality norms. Carry small bills for convenience.
- Check your hotel’s current COVID-19 policies, as guidance or requirements for masks, vaccination, and cleaning procedures may change. Review policy details on the hotel’s website before your arrival.
- Request a room with a safe for valuables, and review the hotel’s outdoor lighting and nighttime entry security. Use keycard-secured entrances, especially for returning after 10 p.m. from events or outdoor activities.
- Renting a car allows flexible travel to Willamette Valley wineries (20-50 miles), the Oregon Coast (65 miles), or area hiking spots. Book in advance, since local rental agencies may have limited supply during peak event periods.
- During major UO events, allow at least 30 extra minutes for parking due to possible congestion, and consider event shuttles or public transit. Paid parking lots near campus typically charge $15-30 per car.
- For personal safety in downtown Eugene, especially at night, keep valuables secure and use well-lit streets. Store passports and valuables in your hotel safe, as minor property crimes can occur in some areas.
