Breakfast!
The room was very clean and well-appointed. The breakfast was okay but the "Holiday Inn" cinnamon rolls were not there. Instead, it seemed the cinnamon rolls were out of a cylinder and not iced (I was really looking forward to those HI cinnamon rolls!)
The staff were very accommodating and pleasant to work with. The breakfast that they provided was a good start to the day. I was pleased it was not a continental breakfast but a warm meal, it saved me a stop for breakfast somewhere else.

The location of this hotel suited my needs. And it appeared safe (outside and inside)
The rate was a fair price but could?ve given a better deal for the short amt of time we spent inside.
After a 7 hour drive, we arrived and were told that our reservation had been canceled. The people at that hotel were no help. After driving to several hotels in the area I was helped, but the closest vacancy was almost an hour away.

Top Tips
- Book your hotel at least 4-6 weeks before major events like the Union County Fair (typically in July) or Marysville Balloon Fest. Rooms can sell out quickly or rates can rise by 15-30% during these periods. Use flexible date searches to compare availability.
- Marysville has minimal public transit, so plan to use a personal car or rideshare. Verify your hotel provides complimentary onsite parking—most do, but always confirm for dates that overlap city events or festivals, as parking lots may fill quickly.
- Choose Uptown hotels (within 0.5 miles of Main St) for walkable access to local restaurants and shops, or stay near US-33 for quick 20-30 minute drives to Columbus or Honda’s East Liberty plant. Cross-check your daily itinerary to select the most convenient area.
- Match hotel amenities to your travel needs: business guests benefit from confirmed high-speed Wi-Fi (at least 25 Mbps) and quiet workspaces. Families often choose hotels with an indoor pool and free breakfast—use amenity filters during your search for faster results.
- Request a room away from US-33 or the railway line if light sleep is a concern, as traffic and train noise levels can exceed 65 decibels. Ask hotel staff to assign a quiet area when booking.
- Plan for U.S. tipping norms: leave $2-$5 per night for housekeeping (daily), and $1-$2 per bag for bell staff. Tip in cash in small bills for ease—ATMs are located within 500 meters of most hotels in Uptown.
- Select flexible booking options with free cancellation, which are usually available until 24-48 hours before check-in. This is especially valuable from November to March, when Ohio weather can cause sudden disruptions.
- Discover Uptown Marysville, within a 5-minute walk of many hotels, where you can enjoy locally owned spots like The Half Pint or Leon’s Garage. Ask hotel staff for current hours and reservation policies before heading out.
- Use the front desk as your local expert—they can recommend current Uptown events, accessible pharmacies, and grocery stores within 1 mile. Request printed walking maps or links to the city event calendar if needed.
- Check each hotel’s health and safety policies, as post-pandemic practices for breakfast service or mask requirements may vary by property. Find policy details on hotel websites or by phone if you need step-free access or allergy accommodations.
- Bring a government-issued photo ID and a valid credit or debit card for check-in, as U.S. hotels typically place a hold of $50-$150 for incidentals. Verify your bank’s policies on international or debit holds to avoid surprises.
- Plan for tax: Ohio state sales and local lodging taxes are added to your nightly rate, usually totaling 7-8%. Check your booking summary before payment to see the final amount and avoid unexpected charges at checkout.
