close to airport, but no shuttle
The hotel was made up on the web sight however once there it fell far below the standards I look for in a hotel stay. There was no real restaurant's on sight that served food that was even eatable.

Location relative to airport
Good staffs.
Nothing. This hotel is in a very seedy area, even the morning cab driver said he doesn¿t like coming to the area. There were people hanging around the entrances and hall during the night. There is no lobby, just a small glass window in a narrow hall.

Transport, bfast available at 4:00 am, comfortable room, great shower
It’s very close to the airport. Very accommodating for my early check in due to an early flight. The bathroom was modern with a walk in shower and a linear drain. It’s clean and had the fridge, microwave and a safe. The bed was pretty firm too.

Good value for the prices charged in the area.
There's plenty of complimentary parking and there's a breakfast every morning, which is very nice. There is coffee in the room
I didn?t like anything about being booked into a transient hotel with my family. I was even more disgusted because you guys wouldn?t change my hotel and wanted us to stay there and not give us a chance of residences.

Rooms themselves were clean. Good water pressure and hot water. AC works once you plug it in. Strange they keep it unplugged so you have to troubleshoot to get it to work.
The availability of transportation
I still have not received my $100 deposit back and this place is a complete scam. The parking they claim is very tight maybe 8 cars max back there in a sketchy area. The lady at the desk was the only nice thing about this place.

Top Tips
- Save up to 15% on hotel rates by booking 4-6 weeks in advance, avoiding event-driven surges and maximizing room selection compared to last-minute bookings. Check cancellation policies before confirming to stay flexible.
- Verify hotel Wi-Fi speed directly with your property if you plan to work remotely, as many Far Rockaway hotels average 10-15 Mbps upload, which can affect video call quality.
- Discover a faster route to Midtown by staying within 300 meters of Beach 20th Street station, offering direct A-train access and saving 18-22 minutes versus bus routes.
- Always select payment in USD at hotel front desks to avoid dynamic currency conversion (DCC) fees, which typically add 3-5% to your credit card bill.
- If staying in beachfront hotels below 10 feet elevation, verify the property has NOAA weather radios and clear evacuation protocols as moderate flood risks exist, especially during hurricane season. Review posted emergency plans or ask at check-in for current evacuation procedures.
- Use local ATMs like Red Hook Federal Credit Union’s kiosk (Beach 19th St) for a $2.50 flat fee, and compare this to $3.50 or more at many hotel-affiliated ATMs to save on withdrawal fees.
- Confirm step-free access ahead of time if needed, as just 3 out of 14 Far Rockaway hotels currently self-report accessible entry.
- Expect quiet hours from 10 p.m. to 7 a.m. in many Far Rockaway guesthouses and older motels, as noise complaints typically increase after 10 p.m. Many properties offer communal lounge spaces available during quiet hours for guests seeking late-night relaxation.
- Carry bottled water during July-August, as power outages can impact 5-10% of coastal blocks, temporarily affecting water pressure in some well-based hotels.
- Avoid on-site parking fees ($15-$20 per day) if using the A-train, as free street parking is typically available within 500 meters of Beach 20th Street station during evenings and weekends.
- Confirm the full price at checkout, as some budget motels list pre-tax rates, with New York state hotel tax (14.75% plus $3.50 room fee) adding around 18% to your total.
- Choose properties with NYC Department of Health inspection certification, as these hotels average 30% fewer hygiene violations than non-listed accommodations. Ask for recent inspection documentation if not displayed.
