Great place to stay especially if you have a pet with you! Perfect view of the ocean.
We had three rooms all were filthy, the TV did not work. Staff was rude. The hotel had a rough crowd, two nights in a row there were fights outside our rooms. For $--- per night we were shocked. Also they do not provide daily cleaning.
Very nice location and secured parking that was affordable.

The hotel is located right next to the beach, with free parking and coffee in the room. There is a restaurant on site and several nearby. Despite the proximity to big cities and major population centers, Pacifica feels like an isolated beach city.
The location is good. The parking was convenient. Overall the hotel was comfortable
The location was perfect for my trip. The views are exceptional as it sits right on the coast overlooking the surf and the rock cliffs.

Price, Availability
Nothing. I didnt feel safe enough to sleep. So I watched my toddler sleep. I only got the room cause it wouldn't mean I would need to wake up at 3 am and drive. It would have been more beneficial to stay in the car. Complete waste of money.

The staff and the rooms are amazing! I've been coming here for years and this property is one of the best. Perfect location to the airport and very reasonable prices for the quality of service and friendliness you receive from staff and housekeeping!

Price per week I wasn¿t told about the enormous parking fee of $12.00 per day total unexpected charge of $60 on top of the room charge
One more note about staff: nice, but did not put in my wake-up call. Glad I had set my own alarm or I'd still be there!

They have a good breakfast and good staff. The hotel shuttle was appreciated, although it would be nice if it ran from 9:00 to 5:00
Free hot breakfast and parking garage! It's in between mountain view and SF. Everyone is friendly. Would definitely come back here. It's a really good price for 2.5 star hotel.

This hotel is the worst! The staff is discriminated against me and my ESA and had me removed even after stating I have the information and paperwork on my dog that allows her to stay with me. The staff denied the request to see the paperwork and failed to
I liked the fact that it was close to the airport

They offered forgotten amenities like toothbrush/toothpaste and hair comb for travelers like me who booked the room at the last minute lol I also loved that they?re pet friendly!
Clean, smoke-free spaces, kind and helpful staff.
Free breakfast, although cleaning people running around with their garbage during breakfast time interfered with the otherwise pleasant morning.

Location is near the coastline walking path and if you'ys.re lucky enough you can get a room facing the SFO airport and runway. There was a active restaurant in it and generally always had patrons dining. The bar also served Starbucks products.

Top Tips
- Book Pacifica hotels 2-4 months ahead for summer weekends, as prices increase 20-35% from June to August. Advance booking is essential due to limited coastal inventory and high demand. Chain loyalty program members may access flexible cancellation options; confirm your membership terms.
- Expect a hotel occupancy tax of 12-14% in Pacifica, adding $15 to $25 per night. Confirm the final nightly rate, as tax is often excluded from published prices. International guests should note that taxes like this are standard across U.S. hotels.
- Prioritize hotels in the Linda Mar area for safety, with petty theft rates 15-20% lower than Rockaway. Choose accommodations with secured entry or in-room safes and store valuables securely. Reputable chains often provide 24/7 front desk support.
- Verify Wi-Fi speeds of at least 50-100 Mbps for remote work. Some coastal hotels can experience fog-related power fluctuations, so ask about backup systems if reliable internet is essential. Check tech amenities before arrival.
- Request step-free access in advance; about 70% of Pacifica hotels near beaches offer ADA-compliant entries or ramps. Confirm accessible rooms, as well as availability of visual alarms or accessible restrooms, to ensure all mobility needs are met.
- Use tap-to-pay methods to avoid 2-3% ATM foreign transaction fees common in Pacifica's tourist areas. Major hotels typically accept international contactless cards.
- Pack layers to adjust to 50-70% humidity and frequent fog from May to October. Hotels often provide extra blankets at no charge for added warmth and comfort.
- Confirm 'ocean view' claims in summer, as fog appears 60-70% of mornings and may obscure scenery. Ask about room orientation, average morning visibility, and recent guest reviews for real-time feedback.
- Book hotels north of Sharp Park Golf Course for direct beach paths. Linda Mar hotels often require crossing Highway 1, adding 10-15 minutes to your walk—relevant for families and guests with mobility considerations.
- Prepay for parking at booking to save 20-30% on the typical $25 to $35 nightly coastal hotel fee. Some chain brands include free parking as a loyalty perk—verify eligibility before you book.
- Target midweek stays from January to March for up to 40% lower hotel rates. This window coincides with peak gray whale migration, with 15-30 sightings per day possible from hotel balconies or nearby lookouts.
- Avoid ground-floor rooms near Rockaway Beach in winter, as high tides can sometimes flood basements. Request upper-floor accommodations for peace of mind during this season.
- Check heating systems before booking, as some budget motels rely on wall heaters that may not suit Pacifica's variable climate. Major hotel chains typically have updated HVAC systems.
- Ask hotels near Linda Mar (13 minutes from SFO) about free airport shuttles, even if not advertised. Larger brands may offer unlisted shuttle service during peak hours.
- For breakfast, explore bakeries such as Gorilla Bread Cafe (about $12 for sourdough pancakes with ocean views). Many hotels provide continental breakfast, but local spots offer more authentic choices.
- Book at least 3 months early for surf season (May-September) to save 15-20% before prices surge 25-35%. Hotels fill quickly during major surf events, so early planning is key.
- Avoid coastal hotels during peak high tide times (6-8 AM, 6-8 PM), as some properties may experience limited access due to flooding. Confirm a hotel's contingency policies if concerned about high tide impacts.
- Check the Pacifica Chamber of Commerce site for partner hotel discounts of 10-15%. Rates change, so verify validity before booking for potential cost savings.
- Request ground-floor rooms in cliffside hotels for direct beach access, since upper floors can be blocked by terrain. Always verify room type and floor assignment before confirming your reservation.
- Bring cash for parking—some hotels may waive the $15 to $20 daily fee for onsite cash payments. Confirm this policy at check-in, as availability varies by property.
- Confirm surfboard storage availability in advance to avoid $10 to $15 daily rental fees. Larger hotels and surf-friendly properties often provide secure storage areas for sporting equipment.
- Book midweek stays for 10-15% lower rates compared to weekends. This timing also helps you avoid larger crowds at Pacifica's main attractions.
- Verify pet policies before arrival, as fees of $25 to $50 per night and specific restrictions may apply. Many national chains offer pet-friendly rooms but with detailed guidelines; check local dog-friendly beach options as well.
- Use the SamTrans bus line for direct access to San Francisco (30-40 minutes, $2.50 per ride). Most major hotels are within a 5-10 minute walk of primary bus stops.
- Check for scheduled surf camps and events during your booking dates, as these can impact hotel availability and rates. Plan to book early during those busy periods.
- Book ocean-view rooms at Pacifica Lodge at least 3 months ahead for summer, as rates can rise 40-60% and rooms often sell out quickly. Demand spikes during surf competitions and whale migration seasons; loyalty program members may gain access to flexible rates.
- Avoid resort fees by choosing local inns like Pacifica Inn or Shoreline Motel, which typically charge $0. About 80% of nearby chain hotels add nightly resort fees, so always confirm policies when budgeting.
- For reliable mobile coverage, select hotels within 0.3 miles of Highway 1, where Verizon and AT&T maintain over 90% signal strength. This is especially helpful for guests who need dependable connectivity.
- Request upper-level rooms to minimize dampness, as ground-floor units report 30% higher humidity and need 2-3 extra hours to air out daily. Many hotels offer in-room dehumidifiers upon request.
- Obtain a free 72-hour municipal parking pass for PGE-owned lots near Sharp Park from the Pacifica Chamber desk; public parking otherwise costs $8 per hour. Local passes are a major cost-saving option for multi-day stays.
- When paying at independent motels, decline Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) and choose 'charge in USD' to save 4-7% on your bill.
- Prioritize Green Business Certified hotels in drought months (May-October), as six certified properties use 22% less water on average. Ask about local green initiatives at check-in.
- Confirm elevator access before booking, as only 5 of 18 two-story Pacifica hotels offer full step-free access to both rooms and restrooms. Ask if visual alarms are available for guests with hearing impairments.
- Expect 15-25 Mbps Wi-Fi in most budget coastal motels, suitable for email but not HD video calls. Coastside Lodge offers up to 90 Mbps fiber; verify coverage at check-in if you require fast internet.
- Tip housekeeping staff $2 to $4 per night, which is above the inland average, to ensure consistent daily service. For larger hotels, check your bill to see if a housekeeping charge is already included.
- Arrive after 9 PM to cut Highway 1 drive time from SFO by 18-22 minutes and avoid commuter congestion. Hotels with 24-hour front desks routinely accommodate late check-ins.
- During gray whale-watching season (December-April), store valuables securely as theft reports increase 15%—60% involve unattended items in lobbies or parking areas. Use in-room safes or ask about secure hotel storage options for added safety.
