The location was good. Lounge was nice.

No central heating, only a plug-in oil heater which was not adequate for the drop in temperature. I was cold all night.

The room was clean and as pictured. The best part of the whole experience was the huge bath in the room. Staff from the nearby Holiday Inn,which is linked to this property, were the most friendliest and helpful.

The entrance included an un hoovered hallway and stairs. In the restaurant there were limited choice of food options for a vegetarian - only a vegan burger. The nachos I ordered were inedible - oily and soldered together. I complained and was assured that they were homemade. Very expensive menu too eg around £16 for a Caesar salad, £3 more with chicken I think. So I had a packet of crisps for dinner - there is nowhere nearby unless you have a car. Basic things in the room were also bad. Two hangers were in a enormous wardrobe which also had a broken door stuck together with masking tape. I hung my clothes on one hanger which broke immediately. The tea/coffee faculties were in a side cupboard and when you pulled the tray out everything fell on the floor and a cup broke. When I turned on the bath the shower attachment automatically sprayed water everywhere - maybe left on by the person who had cleaned it. There was no temperature control in the shower either. You can also hear a lot through the walls. The neighbours made noise well past midnight. But the staff did come over to deal with the situation once informed. Thank goodness I was only there for one night!

The location.

The room, being larger than most in the property, was OK, but the facilities are now very run-down and the sink and toilet needed a proper clean. It is annoying having no check-in facility at the Red Lion itself, and the breakfasts at the Holiday Inn next door are mediocre at best.

Very handy for Duxford and Cambridge. The Holiday Inn express opposite.

Windows we’re rotten and rattled. Toilet was used and hadn’t been cleaned. Tea making kit was kept on a tray on the floor and thick with dust. No biscuits! Room smelled musty and damp. £7.50 charge for overnight parking for guests. Noisy train station drop off point below window. No biscuits!! Half the price still wouldn’t have been good value.

The hotel was nice overall and the staff were very friendly and helpful. When the curtain rail fell down it was fixed very quickly and we were given free drinks and a free breakfast.

The room was a little cramped and lacking in facilities such as a wardrobe. It had an unnecessarily enormous television which really got in the way in a comparatively small room.

The floor was damaged and I almost end up tearing up my skin and socks. It looked completely different and also missing dental kits. Towels were not washed properly. No shampoo, hence we were tired from work, literally fell asleep. This is scam. When we showed photo about damaged floor, they didn’t even compensate.

Not as advertised, pub/restaurant closed Sat and Sun, virtually no food or drinks available at holiday inn. Total rubbish.

Room was far too hot and bedroom window broken. ??broken radiator. Bath taps difficult to turn on and off, very stiff.

The location, and a reasonably comfortable bed.

All the usual things - the shabbiness of what should be a really nice old building above all, and also the lack of a good breakfast. In addition, it was not clear that check-in would have to be done at the neighbouring Holiday Inn, even though the bar at the Red Lion was open; the barman was extremely surly when I politely questioned this.

The location is excellent and the room was cheap.

it is extremely run-down and facilities are limited, though they are at least clean. The bathroom sink was tiny and totally impractical to use.
