Alison House

Beautiful setting, exceptionally comfortable, friendly and attentive staff, great room and excellent food

Instant coffee in the room, would have liked a Nespresso machine, but this is really minor

Beautiful establishment. Went for wedding and all.went well. Breakfast especially impressive.

First room was cold so we were moved on request without issue. Lovely room. Bed a little hard for us but not overly intrusive..

It was very clean and comfortable. The grounds were lovey. Staff very well mannered ans helpful

Clean. Comfortable. Lovely breakfast

Beautiful settings, lovely clean hotel, great staff

Gave us exactly what we wanted, nice personable staff and boutique style accommodation in a lovely location.

It was all good.

Interesting quirky, Victorian but modern interior building, large rooms, comfortable bed. Has an electric car charger. Lovely quiet surroundings.

Room lighting was a bit low level, perhaps romantic. Could be a bit noisy when crowded.

Lovely period style hotel, beautiful setting. Rooms well decorated and very clean. Food in restaurant lovely and well presented. Staff very friendly and helpful.

Nothing really

Everything, food and service were very good.Loved the open fire in the sitting room

Although the heating was on and the radiator was hot, the room was miserably cold.Perhaps another radiator would be needed.Bathroom lovely and warm

We had a evening meal that was excellent.

Lack of hooks or towel rail in bathroom.Breakfast was very disappointing dried out bacon and black pudding inedible .Waitress said the bacon is meant to be crispy ....felt like it had been left under a hot plate and dried out.

Perfect weekend retreat in stylish recently refurbished accommodation

Electric car charging is expensive

Lovely listed property. Good amenities, lovely lounge and restaurant.Staff were brilliant. Couldn’t do enough to accommodate my elderly father in law with mobility issues. When we left a couple of items behind, hotel contacted us and posted items out.

We were at this Hotel for 3 days with another couple and The Staff were professional and very friendly. The cleanliness of the property especially the rooms were spotless, and the location was great for all our needs, visiting Chatsworth House/Bakewell and matlock etc..The food was very tasty and the portions large so you'll never go out hungry. Also If you couldn't find what you wanted the staff were always happy to help, as well as helping you dine outside of property and directions of places to visit. The building itself is not large or small but quite quaint. With furniture in the lounge area comfortable ( although 1 sofa could do with more padding) The bedroom was very clean and comfortable with sufficient furniture making it feel uncluttered and roomy. We'll definitely be back to this wonderful little gem in the near future. What ever the price may be.

Going Home.

Very good food, dinner and breakfast. Staff very polite and made sure we had everything we needed. Room very good size and very comfortable beds. Will definatley return.

N.A

Lovely room and location. Excellent staff. Great breakfast

Room isn't very soundproof

Breakfast was lovely and the location was perfect for us.

We could hear the guests above us dropping things and moving about during the night. We felt a bit awkward as there was a private function going on.

It’s our 2nd time staying and it was just as nice as the first time. The restaurant food was fantastic and the staff were amazing. We have booked again for next year.

Beautiful hotel, and location. Our room was a good size, very clean.Friendly, and efficient staff.Food was fabulous, and as I have certain food intolerance ie, Gluten, and Dairy, this was made very clear on the menu.I would definitely stay there again.

Beds were quite firm, and could hear noise from other guests, but other than that, it was excellent.

Stunningly beautiful location, lovely room and a terrific breakfast

Great location. Hotel itself was in a lovely peaceful setting. Staff were friendly. Food was excellent.
