Excellent facilities.

Staff were nice at the reception. Room was warm and the beds were comfy and clean

Asked for a hairdryer and extra towels as there wasn't enough, took them around a hour to bring them to our room, and this was after ringing reception to remind them. No music on in the bars. Couldn't sleep as there was drunken people being so loud! Bathroom wasn't really clean, there was a build up of dirt around the taps on the bath and the sink.

Breakfast was just average, a typical English breakfast, good quality, but not an extensive buffet spread you see elsewhere.

Quick check in, plenty of parking. Our family room was big and the beds were comfortable. We enjoyed the breakfast, we were seated quickly and the food was good. Me and my girls enjoyed the swimming pool which was part of the booking

Our room was dated as was the bathroom. The room had a big, burnt iron mark on the carpet. (103) We were woken up early on Sunday morning by a group of four people queuing outside our bedroom window for the spa. Very noisy, and not a nice way to start the day. The spa's changing area including the showers were rather grubby, moldy and needs refurbishing. It was quite grim when I was having a shower.

Much is good about this property. The location is especially nice, with several surprisingly scenic walks laid out (ask for the brochure!). The spa is pretty good, with quite a few options to cook yourself. Rooms and public areas are very attractive.

Breakfast options are below par, and both the restaurant and bar are bit disappointing for both service and quality. Front desk staff need a bit more training in guest relations. Rooms are quite hard to ventilate at night are stuffy in summer.

I have known the property since 1980 and I have visited it and stayed many times. The previous two owners destroyed it and the last time I stayed there when it was Mecure owned was absolutely disgusting. I am really pleased with the new owners and the very polite and helpful staff thank you

I have one very small complaint the ventilation in the bathroom was not working and that maybe a considerable fact with the mound growing in the silicone around the bath but it is a common problem but can be eradicated.

The breakfast was very poor and not worth the money

The spa was lovely and it was relatively easy to book in for. The spa reception was very quick to email back! When my partner and I were stuck in traffic and couldn't get to the restraunt for our reservation for Afternoon Tea, they were happy to accommodate us for a later time. The room was cozy, the bed was comfortable and bigger than expected to be plus it was quiet and not too far from reception.

The room was a bit hot at night and could have used a fan. I'm sure reception could have accommodated us but we got back to our room around midnight and felt bad to contact reception so late at night.

I just stayed for a night here as I was visiting Bolton. The hotel is nice with ga ood car park and is very clean. The room was spacious and had the necessary amenities like coffee and teabags etc. There was no notice in the night and I had a good sleep. The breakfast was delicious, but the only problem was the delay in taking orders and serving it. I really enjoyed the stay. Would recommend to anyone. There is a good spa but I didn't have time to use the facilities.

The place was clean and staff are friendly

Very old fashioned rooms when the outside and the reception doesn’t give that impression. Room very very basic indeed and not a great bathroom and I had the executive suite. Breakfast isn’t worth the money.

Quiet location.

Old fashioned interior, grubby, unhygienic, bathroom was filthy, ironing board was broken, breakfast was stale. On arrival at the pool area we were informed kids (aged 8 & 13) cannot access the spa area, but no mention of this at time of booking. Unhelpful staff at the pool and spa area.

The staff were all happy and friendly ready to help and advice with any queries.

Didn't like the breakfast as there was a hair on my egg and the coffee was cold .

Received a very friendly reception, and after having a prior booking elsewhere that was not so nice, it was very refreshing.The staff were very relaxed and informative, nothing too much trouble.The spa facilities were wonderful, and although we had a booked time slot, this did not feel mi ro managed in any way. We respected the fact it may be busy and just enjoyed our time there.The food was also really nice, and they catered to our requests. Brunch was excellent, and it's clear they have improved their food quality. Great service too.

Would have been nice to have water in the room, but it's just a small thing that did not impact our stay in any way.
