staf we rude, not willing to help made a complain the room were too hot, and the staff says if you want a upgrade to a different room the would have to charge me more money. the room it self were very expensive with no aircontion

It's a very old hotel with some aspects rather worn, but that's part of the charm

The sea views were exceptional..The rooms are clean.The food is good although the dinner menu doesn't get changed very often.The swimming pool area was lovely. The guards could not have been more helpful.

The cost of a room with balcony and sea view is the same for all sea view rooms. However, the size of room, bathroom and balcony varies. You may get a small balcony which just fits two chairs and a table or you may be lucky enough to have a balcony with sun beds. Unfortunately, this time we had the former which included a very small bathroom.

Nicely furnished room with good amenities including USB charging points, iron and ironing board, hairdryer and safe. Good view over the entrance to Poole harbour from our balcony. Great breakfast and friendly staff. Ample car parking on site.

The pillows were very hard for our taste and the bathroom was a little old fashioned with a shower attachment over the bath. Also the double door to the bathroom was a bit crude and hard to shut.The area for sunbathing/relaxing around the external swimming pool seemed a bit tired and in need of refurbishing.

Beautiful location and lovely interior. Room small but had everything needed with partial sea view. Staff friendly and helpful.

Disappointing to have a smaller room than friends when I paid more at booking and noted on my booking the stay was for my partners birthday .Woken at midnight by fire alarm Woken at 6am by the chain ferry fog horn No table service

The room we were given was lovely located right over the sea and easy access

The initial room given had a shower tray rather than a bath, which was a downer as none of the rooms pictures on the website/promotional pictures for the hotel showed any shower tray in the bathrooms, which makes you assume that all are bath tubs. I was looking forward to a soak the first night when I reached there, so was disappointed. When I informed the staff, they moved me to another room only the next day, but I had to pay the difference in the rates for 1 night. Breakfast was a good spread, but the same for both the days I stayed, no halal options. Some variety/change would have been good. Sadly, the indoor pool was freezing cold (although they said it was heated) and the steam room was out of order, so was the hot tub outside (some pending repairs). Only the sauna room was functional, so it was just a repeat between the cold pool and the hot sauna. This was also disappointing. In short, more than half teh facilities expected was sub par, especially for the high amount spent.Location was as expected and what we chose- landsend, beautiful and sea facing, loved it.

Shower tray in the bathroom- as against bathtub as advertised.Indoor pool was cold, although claimed to be heated. When I went in at 1000 hrs, was told- it is 'heating'!!Steam room and hot tub outside- both non functional, so this was disappointing.

As it turned out this was the last day of their season - which we were not made aware of on booking.Consequently the bar had no draft beers available and the health suite closed on the day of arrival!Feeling a bit cheated to honest based on the facilities referenced at the time of booking and the cost of the room!And to top it all off - have been charged twice by Booking.com

Amazing views. Rooms spacious clean and with all the necessities. Most staff (reception, gym, spa, cleaners, nar etc) were amazing and very friendly and super helpful. Very happy and will definitely go back again. Thank you everyone!

Just 2 of the dinner staff could work on their communication and manners. food options should change a little as its the same every day and chef should be a bit more careful with following orders...

Lovely room and beautiful sea view from our balcony, we could watch the beautiful sunrise and sunset. We enjoyed watching the chain ferry with a cocktail, from the bar terrace as well. Good selection for breakfast and they kindly cooked my gluten free breakfast separately to avoid cross contamination.

Only downside was the only gluten free dessert available at dinner was sorbet, but otherwise it was all great!

The location was beautiful.

When we went for breakfast at 7.30am we had to wait for the hot food to be brought out. The mattress was a little hard.

Room ok, tired and dated not that clean. Pool is ok , bit dated. The beach just outside the hotel is very nice and convenient . Location is very good , not much around but a nice beach and close to the ferry over to Studland. The inside and outside restaurant tables have nice sea views . Close to Rick Stien’s , great food but be warned bad slow service .

The location was perfect as right one the beach, easy to find and park too. The choice of drink was great at the bar and the breakfast was very good with plenty of choice also.

Bit of a cold welcome with no interaction from staff at reception other than letting us know our room number and entering car reg into the touch screen. There was no information on the timings or locations of where things were (only a rough direction to our room). The barman thought he was a DJ and the music was not relaxing at all so we didn't stay for more than one drink. The music at breakfast was far more pleasant and would have suited the bar more. The beds were not comfy as you could feel the metal around the edge, the bathroom door latch was broken so the door didn't catch, and there was a howl through the door to the balcony as the old aluminium frames are shoot with large gaps. There is no aircon so a fan is left that does not move from left to right for some reason.

The room had an ensuite. The bed was lovely and comfortable, as well as being very large. The view from the room was amazing. I could sit on the balcony for hours just chilling with a glass or two. The hotel itself is old and it is lovingly cared for. They have kept a lot of old features in the hotel which reminds you of a time past. The view from the bar, restaurant and breakfast area's, again, are superb. The check in and out was made very straight forward and demonstrated good knowledge and experience.

The ensuite is quite small, which, in a way is to be expected, but, the toilet roll is behind you. I do think that a better position could be found for it. The manager was a little too present. If you are going to have a word or prompt your staff, do it subtly. You do not need to embarrass the staff.
