Lancaster Gate Hotel

One of the best hotels I ever stayed in London! I travel to London very frequently for work, and I am always looking for a nice, clean hotel in a central, convenient and safe zone. Lancaster Gate Hotel fit all the boxes! The location in very central, almost in front of Hyde park with easy access to most underground lines, and at a short 30 minutes walk from most of the attractions in central London. The hotel itself sits in a nice building, in a residential zone. The staff was nice, helpful and non-fussy. The room was located at the sixth floor (with lift!!!) and was clean and spacious, with nice amenities like a kettle, tea and coffee. Very very very recommended!!

On a very small note, the water took a very long time (15 minutes) to properly warm up. And of course, I know, I lived in London, is just London plumbing and being at the sixth floor, so is not by any means the hotel’s fault.

The hotel is not 3 stars...more like 2.. The wind blows very hard in the room because of the old windows.

Location near to an underground station was excellent the bed was comfortable shower was good as well

The room was cold, the bathroom door didn’t shut properly we did let staff know but nothing was done. There wasn’t enough coffee or tea we did let staff know but no more were provided .

The room was cold. It relied on air conditioning not radiators so you had to leave it on all night because there were no blankets. TV didn't work.

There was no hot water for a day, which prevented us from showering. However, they compensated us with one night free stay. This is good service recovery.

The bathroom could have been modernised.The brakfast did not look so good for the price they asked for. Therefore, we did not opt for it. There were better alternatives in the neighbourhood for lesser the price.

Hotel being renovated so some minor hiccups with facilities - example only access to one lift. Would have preferred hand soap to be provided instead of having to request this from front desk. This had to be done on person as rooms did not have phones

Clean, staff friendly and welcoming. Great location.

Wasn’t anything

Clean, comfortable and quiet. Pleasant bar area. Price was reasonable. Near to restaurants. Pleasant walk to the nearest underground station. There were renovations taking place but they did not inconvenience us. Close to Hyde Park.

Some may find it a little far to walk to the underground station but we enjoyed the walk.

I didn't like anything about the hotel

It's not a suitable hotel if you travel with a baby there are no ramps for buggies. The travel cot that I got for my baby was dirty and had no mattress so I had to get towels from the bathroom to make it comfortable for her. The TV in the room didn't work the wall up over the TV was very dusty and the furniture was very out dated

Shower did not work, breakfast was poor and massively overpriced, lights in room did not work, light flashed on ceiling all night … the hotel should have been closed during refurbishment.

Room was very outdated and not that clean. Had difficulty flushing and keeping the temperature okey in the shower.

The room was tired and smelt of damp. It was very small and very cold. The doors were damaged. The bed was not comfortable. We have stayed here many times before but feel that the standard has dropped
