The views

My room floor was filthy, crumbs & dirt all over it, a light was out in my bathroom that I asked they fix & they never did, and there were bugs in my breakfast and metal in my dinner (they said the metal was probably because they make their own meat).

Wonderful staff, the view is unbelievable at the top of Monte Bre. The WiFi is good and incredibly FREE parking! I did not get a chance to try the restaurant but it is on site. It has a quaint charm and is very clean. Highly recommended to stay.

Nice swimming pool

Wow the view - absolutely amazing! Very friendly staff. Good food in the restaurant. Well situated for the public transport and they also sent the Ticino ticket ahead of time.

The decor is somewhat dated.

The hotel is 50m away from a bus stop that connects it directly to central Lugano. It provides a free Ticino ticket, so public transport is free for you. Very easy to get to the centre and back. In summer, there is a pool available. Access to the pool is a bit tricky if you have plastic flipflops - you do need to go downhill. If you have limited mobility, you may have trouble getting there, I don't think a wheelchair would pass either. For anyone else - it's very lovely for a reasonable price for the area! Some rooms don't have much of a view, but rooms facing the lake have balconies and the view from the terrace is lovely in the mornings. The breakfast is nice, I'd switch up the breads and baked options more, or it would be nice to have them pre-sliced. The coffee could have been better, I think that's my only complaint :) Staff were great and very helpful. If you need to do your laundry, there's an option slightly off-site but with low capacity.

Just the coffee :) The beds are also too soft for me, but that's personal preference I think.

The view around the hotel and free parking. Bed was okay and shower was nice but became cold after only 10 minutes. They did include a ticket that included city public transport so that was also nice.

Cup in bathroom looked to be fresh but had a minty smelling liquid in it like mouth wash. The blow dryer didn’t work. Had to ask for coffee even though they said coffee was provided in the room. My sister was walked in on by house keeping the day we were leaving at 0900. House keeping didn’t knock just used their key and opened the door after they saw me walk out with our dog assuming I had left. This made my sister very uncomfortable. When I told the front desk about it they acted like I was in the wrong and said that house keeping thought I left since I walked out with the dog but I in fact had until 1100 for check out. They disregarded the fact that house keeping didn’t even attempt to make sure nobody was in the room before they just walked in.

The breakfast was fabulous. The view was amazing. Sunsets were great. Right on the bus route and out of town a bit on the hillside. The staff was wonderful and the food was great.

European beds are not the best. Very thin mattresses and two twins rolled together to make a king bed. They also roll apart if you're too active.

It has a spectacular view!!! The property is a classy place that reminded me of better days when I was young when my family travelled. This place has a timeless quality. I LOVE the donut shaped pool with a view. I love that the bus comes every half hour and you are treated to a wonderful twisty road with the best views of Lugano. I didn’t want to leave!!

The views are fabulous from this hotel. That alone was worth the stay!Oh and breakfast was quite nice also.

It is definitely a bit dated but still very nicely maintained and clean.

The rug in the room had moths. The hotel is not updated to the current century, the facilities, furniture and appliances are really old.

Well run hotel with great view of the lake. Free public bus right outside the hotel makes the slightly out-of-the-center of things location not a problem at all.

Limited eating options - there’s really just the hotel restaurant.

Just difficult to reach but the view made up for it. Stairs to get in.

Very lovely and quiet hotel on the hill over Lugano with some historic mountain village parts around. Hotel has a swimming pool, breakfast was very tasty. The room was spacious and clean. Parking on site was included. To go into the historic centre of Lugano, one would need to take the bus or drive. For me it was perfect, and my two dogs enjoyed it too.

It's great for people who are looking for a quiet space. Probably less ideal for people who want to visit the historic centre of Lugano, museums etc.

We had a triple room with a great view on the lake. It's a classic, old-fashioned, stylish hotel. The staff were very friendly and the breakfast was decent. A small but nice pool.

The parking is limited and not easy, really a small parking area between the road the the mountain slope and if others don't park well, it's hard to move in or out of your spot. The restaurant had a great view of the city and lake but I found it a bit expensive and the menu has a limited variety.

Hotel is old , but Lake view is astonishing. Very clean rooms, very nice stuff. Good value for money spent.

Everything was Perfect, Staff was very nice, swimming pool was amazing, and the view! I will come back soon.
