Pros +

  • Location is one of the best features of this property. Located in the Plateau district, it is well situated for accessing several of the popular attractions. There are also many restaurants within easy walking distance of the hotel, including the hotel's own restaurant on the ground floor and the Caesars restaurant directly opposite. A boulangerie across the street was also very handy for picking up pastries, baguettes and coffee in the morning. The room was very spacious and included a small kitchenette and a sizeable patio overlooking the main road. The fridge came in handy for keeping drinks cold. The air-conditioning unit worked well. The flat screen TV was of a good size (no English speaking channels though). The bed was comfortable. The staff at the reception desk were always pleasant and helpful. When needing to get around the city, there were always taxis waiting outside the hotel. When returning by taxi, the drivers always knew where the hotel was located. Our departure flight was not until 1.00am, so the staff were able to arrange a later checkout (up to 8.00pm, instead of midday), albeit with a 20,000 CFA price tag. Overall, the hotel served our needs reasonably well.
  • We recently stayed at this hotel and found it to be a convenient base for exploring the city. The location is excellent, making it easy to visit the main attractions and get around. The staff were friendly and welcoming, which added to the positive experience. Our room was spacious and included a fridge, which was a nice touch. While the decor is a bit outdated, it didn't really bother us, as the room was still comfortable and well-equipped. Overall, a good choice for a short stay.
  • The location us prime

Cons -

  • Our first impression upon arrival was that the property is showing its age. The refrigerator was heavily rusted on the outside (but worked fine). There was a large mark (burn?) on the counter top next to the double stove-top. Rudimentary caulking repairs had been applied around the stove top and the shower. It was also apparent that the room has not had a deep clean in many months. The housekeeping staff were very attentive to the daily cleaning process, but areas that were not on the daily schedule had been neglected. Several areas had not been cleaned in a while - including the pedestal of the toilet. The wifi was problematic. Firstly, it is an unsecured network without a password to access, so it is a security risk. We used a VPN to mitigate that risk. However, the connection frequently dropped and, when it was accessible, it was painfully slow. After reading that traffic noise could be a problem on the lower floors, I requested allocation to a higher floor at the time of booking. The hotel responded that it shouldn't be a problem, just ask reception at check in. I did ask at check in, but was assigned a room on the second floor. Having said that, we did not find traffic noise to be a problem throughout out 7 night stay. There were occasional noise issues at 7.30am, caused by hotel staff talking loudly in the hallway of our floor.
  • The sign door was marked do not disturb. But the cleaner knocked the door twice then opened the door while I was getting out from the shower naked. I know I had to check out but the receptionist could have called me. I am an old customer and I'm being very nice but this is a violation of my privacy. Also the bathroom has a very bad smell it needs attention.
