The Big Blue Hotel - Blackpool Pleasure Beach

You can pay a lot less for a night's accommodation in Blackpool, but with the Big Blue you get a really lovely hotel, spacious rooms with good facilities, and lovely staff who make you feel welcome. My advice is to enjoy all the cheap things about Blackpool, but splash out a little on your accommodation and stay at the Big Blue. It's a few tram stops down from the busy part of town near the tower, but that's a good thing, because you get to enjoy the peace, the fabulous beach, and if amusement rides are your thing, you are just on the doorstep of the Pleasure Beach.Deluxe double rooms are bigger than average, and have a fridge and a safe, as well as the kettle as standard in all rooms. If you want a view of the Pleasure Beach from your room, let the staff know when you book or you arrive at the hotel. If you want a side sea view from your window, ask for a high room facing the car park. We watched the sun go down and the sunset was lovely. We will definitely stay at the Big Blue again. It's a great hotel, and if you're flexible about when you visit, you can get great rooms at a reasonable price.

I like everything about the Big Blue. I suppose if I had to pick something to criticise, it would be the price of the car park. At £20 a night, it's no wonder people try to find a parking spot on the road. We arrived at 1pm and there was plenty of space to park on the road, but by checkin time at 3pm, choices were limited. Bear this in mind if you are planning your stay.

Sadly there was a lot of noise in the corridors that went on til around 2am children running up and down. I also feel the charge for the parking is a bit much. As we are guests who are spending time and money using the facilities I feel it should be free

Having to pay £40 to park the car even thought it’s a disabled car wife’s in an electric. Wheel so we need a car

Son loved the family room with his own little part with tv and snakes and ladders game. Shower was powerful, bed was comfy and clean. All round good. Arrived at midday and was able to check in. Really good size room plenty of space.

I think £20 for parking is a bit steep. Thought I’d booked the hotel with breakfast but I hadn’t and when we enquired about how much that would be we thought that was a bit pricey too.

No hot water could not have a bath or shower on the morning Our friends who were there paid £18 each for breakfast not worth it.Hotel wanted £20 to park overnight because we booked with a third party.

water went difficult down the drains in shower and bath and toilet flush system not good especially for a luxury suite

We got free upgrade and move to a family room it was very big and would be ideal for a family

The hotel was recommended by friends who stop there every time they attend an event. It was beautiful inside and out. Carparking was plentiful. All the staff, without exception were friendly, informative and very efficient. We were upgraded to a family room, the room was clean, the bed was fantastic, very comfortable. The facilities in the room were outstanding.

No charging points near the bed. Partial sea view was poor, overlooking a derelict hotel, I was quite aggrieved at having paid extra for it.
