Convenient and staff are lovely

It is looking very tired and in desperate need of repair and decorating.

The house itself is beautiful, luxuriously decorated room with 4 poster bed. staff were super pleasant and helpful. Customer service 10/10. Breakfast initially seemed small but certainly did what it needed to do.

The room was a bit cold at night, stayed early December 2025. Wasn't a way we could find to make it warmer but the thick duvet certainly helped

The onsite Indian / English restaurant was superb. Alex was extremely helpful and couldn’t do enough for us. The room was clean and tidy but could do with an update

The hotel was comfortable, staff very friendly and wanting to please us.We enjoyed eating in the restaurant the food was delicious as was the breakfast in the dining room.

On arrival, the exterior looked stunning, and the lady at the front desk was very nice, but the interior and the standard of the room were not as expected. The room surface level looked nice, but there were holes in the net curtains, dust on the furniture and a lot of limescale and dirt in the bathroom, especially around the sink.

This is a pretty country hotel very close to the Harwell campus which I was visiting the next day. Brilliant staff, and a great breakfast. Dinner was in their India restaurant. The buttermilk chicken was one of the best curries I have enjoyed for a very long time.

The room was in need of a refit. The TV didn't work and the bed too hard (for me anyway). The kettle needed attention as it didn't work, then it did. It was a good sized room though.

Was quite noisy with doors banging. Wish there was a bath!!! Rooms would benefit from a larger tv?

Reception and breakfast room was very nice , cosy and beautifully decorated.

Room very clean and everything was there what I needed but it wasn't any nice atmosphere or decor, just basic room. Breakfast- the smaller portions witch I ever had.

Clean, friendly, good value for money.

It’s in the Oxfordshire countryside so may be a little remote for some people.

Great location

The features were out of date, sometime dirty and just in need of TLC. The photos make it look like everything is brand new but I felt absolutely shafted with the thin and dirty carpets, radiator that I couldn’t turn off and other things.

Worst ever

Arrived to find toilet seat ready to fall off in the room designated. This got fixed. On return to hotel in the evening we were subjected to ongoing screaming and shouting, swearing and loud tv by the people in the room below us. Asked to be moved but nothing else available. Twice requested reception desk with the issue. Each time the noise would start up again. Floors and walls obviously too thin so could hear everything going on and being said. Decided by 11pm this wasn’t the type of establishment we wanted to stay the night and handed back the keys. Advised we’d be requesting a refund from management. Spoke to management, when they were available and they were initially willing to refund breakfast only, but after I said I’d be putting in a bad review, they rescinded the offer and not willing to refund d anything. Would NOT recommend this hotel!!

Disappointed but good price.

Smelt of greasy food as soon as you walked through the door. Dirty walls in need of decorating throughout, It felt very dated even though photos make it look modern it didn’t give off that vibe. No one on reception at check out. Very cold.

Lovely building, spacious rooms, good services and nice breakfast (altho limited)

Overpowering smell of food in reception from restaurant which stuck to clothes. Room was clean and well presented but cobwebs in corners and ceilings. Ripped net curtain. Limited breakfast menu - only 4 hot options

Great restaurant although menu was a bit limited if you didn't like Indian cuisine, fortunately I do.

Room decor rather tired.
