    • This hotel room was HUGE and such a treat after small Tokyo rooms! Each floor only has two rooms, and the neighborhood was super quiet, so it’s a lovely restful area. The hotel was very close to a main train line into downtown so it was easy to connect. The bed was super comfortable and the wet- room with tub was excellent! The in-room coffee and tea station was a lovely bonus and the view of the mountains was spectacular. Staff was very kind. Would definitely stay again!
    • Very clean and modern property. There was plenty of space for our family of three. We would highly recommend this hotel in the Arashiyama district of Kyoto.
    • Friendly people, great room, hand written note

    Cons -

    • Wish we could stay in the same room for both nights.
    • The bed was soft for my back issue. It will be good to have a firm mattress but again understand the Westerners will prefer the softer version while Asians prefer a firm mattress instead.
    • Far away from Kyoto city

We extended our stay for another night, but in a superior king room this time, ahain the location was good for exploring Argashiyama, bed was comfy.

Wish we could stay in the same room for both nights.

I was very happy with the quiet location which takes 2-min walk to Saga-Arashimaya station. The personal touch in writing me a welcome card with Origami swans. I like the spacious room which segregated into room of bathtub, vanity, toilet and closet. The green tea sachet is perfectly good for me as it is light taste which soothed me in the night when I took it. Just wonder where can I buy it.... :) Nepresso machine and the towel heater are very useful for me. They served my breakfast punctually.

It was a really comfortable room, large bathroom, great attention to detail. It was a nice touch with the welcome cool tea and the sweet treat goodbye. Location was great being close to the train station and the things we wanted to do.

There was nothing we didn’t like.

we loved everything about this cute boutique hotel

A wonderful boutique hotel in a quiet part of town near Bamboo Gardens complex. The front desk staff were all exceptional and helped me in many ways. The room was excellent. The shower incredible and bed comfy. The balcony showed a great review of surrounding mountains! Many nice restaurants nearby. Check out Maha across the street and Saganoya restaurant. Incredible udon and wagyu!! Lovely shrine and gardens nearby

Fantastic location in Arashiyama. Very quiet. The rooms are huge (especially after the tiny rooms of Tokyo hotels!) - with balconies and sofas and the toilet separate from the bathroom. Front desk staff were excellent - very friendly and went out of their way to help us - especially the South Korean man (whose name I don't recall - apologies to him!), who dealt with our very rushed and stressed arrival so perfectly! Can't recommend this hotel highly enough.

Our experience at Homm Stay Nagi Arashiyama was terrible. After a late check-in we were looking forward to a shower but when we opened the shower room we immediately smelled mold. Throughout the course of the night my wife and I both noticed every time the air turned on the room would also smell like mold and we both proceeded to get stuffy noses and by morning we were both completely clogged. The smell of mold was so bad that we left both doors closed to the bathroom/shower and opened the sliders to let in fresh air to avoid the smell creeping into the bedroom. That morning we went down to the front desk and asked if it was possible to modify our reservation and check out 3 nights early. The receptionist said yes - we would just need to speak with booking.com and request the modification which we promptly did. At the same time we booked new accommodations at a new hotel so we did not have to stay in a room full of mold. Later that day we recieved a message from the hotel that they would not refund the 3 additional nights that they previously said they would refund. They insisted that it was a “miscommunication” and that the staff could not smell the overwhelming scent of mold. They continued to refuse a refund for the nights that we did not stay and stood behind their 100% non refundable cancellation policy.I will never stay at another hotel run by this management group. Their customer service is terrible and they have no integrity with their word.

I now regard Homm Stay Nagi Arashiyama as one of my favourite places to stay. The room was exceptional, the bed and pillows really comfortable and the reception staff were extremely hlepful. The bathroom was amazing!!!! It's also conveniently near attractions and a gourmet supermarket.

Centrally located and very clean. Staff was excellent. Very friendly and helpful. Lots of amenities (pajamas, slippers, wash cloths,etc.). Within walking distance to the bamboo forest and other sites.

Refrigerator didn’t get cold but they never do at hotels so it’s not just them :).

Very convenient location between public transportation and the arashiyama parks. The size of our room exceeded my expectations and it's presentation was excellent. Staff was incredibly friendly and accommodated all our requests.

The room was excellent. Please note that this property is focused on the hotel room only and it was vey comfortable stay. Bathroom was huge and warm. All in room amenities was top. Thank you

It’s a bit far from city but short walk to bamboo forest.
