Hotel Arashiyama

Second time with this hotel. Amazing breakfast Japanese set. Staff were nice and friendly.

This hotel is in a picturesque location with a river view. The rooms are beautiful and comfortable. The hotel is located next to many attractions. I can't wait to stay here again!

A magnificent small hotel with an amazing location. A comfy and clean room with a view of a river and a bridge that you cannot ask for more. It would be lovely spending a whole month writing a book in such a room with such a superlative kind and helpful front desk who make my staying pleasantly unforgettable. They helped me figure out how to send my luggage to the Kansai airport after receiving it a day too early from the delivery services. You can also leave your belongings at the counter after checkout and get a discount coupon to a nice outdoor onsen nearby with a short walking distance from the Hankyu Arashiyama train station. I would definitely stay there again.

Awesome view of the bridge from the room, very clean room and building, comfortable beds, close to the bridge, bus stops and train station. Delicious Japanese style breakfast. Very nice staff. There a bath tub in the room, but we walked 2 minutes to a public bath which was wonderful.

Perfect in every way!! Definitely consider this if you wish to stay in Arashiyama. Perfect location, friendly staff, clean and comfortable room, etc. There’s a 24h convenience store Ministop next to Arashiyama station which is a few minutes away from the hotel. Also, the view from my room was amazing.

Excellent staff super welcoming and provide us the best breakfast everyday and provide us with fresh towels, pjs and toiletries next day! We also had hotel discount for the Onsen next to the hotel, which was a plus, to relax and enjoy a nice evening at the Onsen.Thanks for making us feel like home!Sara & Joey

Comfortable bed, great views of river, excellent breakfast!

The staff was incredible. A cell phone was left on board a train. We filed a lost item report. Was found! Hotel staff was great in helping to get it delivered to us. Everything was spotless. Food was delicious. Beds were comfy. Would definitely stay again and recommend to all.

The only disappointment was that we couldn't stay longer!

The staff were so helpful and kind! We used Google translate but all of our questions were answered. The location is amazing, comfy beds, super clean, everything you need, nice onsen just a minute walk away.

All was amazing! The pillow on the bed felt thick to me but my husband thought it was fine.

The view was incredible. The location proximity to two different train stations was great. The room was clean and staff accommodating with needed toiletries and bringing luggage to the room while we were out visiting. Robes are lovely.

Wish the room was bigger but no complaints about what we had.

Very friendly and accommodating staff. Carries luggage up to room. Elevator works well. Provided excellent coffee in the morning. Perfect location for easy walking to everything. Nice outside area to sit by water.

Bathroom is very small.

All the staff were attentive and kind. Breakfast was delicious. The beds were comfortable. They had complementary bikes and umbrellas too. They also even provided a discount coupon to bathe at the onsen down the street. The location was wonderful to go to all the shops and sights in Arashiyama. I had a wonderful stay and even extended for a third night.

Not complaints but things to note. Parking is very limited so make sure they will have space if you are traveling by car. It can also take quite some time (even by toll road) to reach the other side of Kyoto. Just something to keep in mind if you have limited time to explore and want to see other areas.

I stayed there for a week and it was perfect. The location, amenities, cleanliness, service were all great. I really liked how they asked you every day what room service you would like. The view was particularly amazing.

This hotel has an amazing location - you get a waterfront view of the the Togetsykyo Bridge and Katsura River from all the rooms. Plus the beds are large and comfortable; this hotel is my go-to when staying in Arashiyama.

The location is perfection! I loved being so close to the river and near the shops and dining options in Arashiyama. The rooms were small but had everything you needed. It was cozy and comfortable. The location however could not be beat!

We would have like a bit more help from the front desk. We were trying to find some dinner recommendations and had difficulty getting help finding some. The shops in the area close so early so finding food after like 6pm is difficult without prior planning or reservations.

Spacious room for Japan, fantastic view of the river, easy location to sights, train and main tourist areas. My son said he wished we stayed at this hotel for longer.

The bathroom is very small - it feels like an RV bathroom (in fact our 5th wheel's bathroom is more spacious and has WAY MORE head room). If you are a tall person (over 5'10") it will definitely be difficult to function in this bathroom. We had no issue but we are both 5'6".

Location, Terrace and Staff allows for memorable stay

The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. We enjoyed sitting on the patio overlooking the river and beautiful view of the valley while eating a delicious Japanese breakfast.

I wish they had a washer and dryer.
