Stunning views and incredible room
It was a bit further from the city than I realized. I thought public transit was going to be more convenient but you are quite reliant on uber back and forth from most of the tourist areas.
Our stay at Muni Kyoto was a real highlight of the trip. The hotel is perfectly located right in front of the famous Togetsukyo Bridge, giving us stunning views of the river and mountains. The design blends modern elegance with touches of Japanese minimalism, making it both stylish and relaxing. The service was warm yet refined, with the staff going out of their way to make us feel welcome. Breakfast was also excellent; we especially love the bread basket! Truly a luxurious and memorable experience.
The location, the room & some of the staff. The breakfast was good
The SCAM of the Michelin star restaurant, it was absolutely nasty, horrible food, mediocre service, 6 out of 7 courses were destined to be thrown directly in the trash. Ducasse should get his star revoked.
We absolutely loved everything about Muni. We especially loved the breakfasts, and the happy hour. I absolutely adore the bath salts, and bought multiple boxes. Our room was perfect. All the staff was extremely kind and helpful and accommodating.
Everything was perfect.
The breakfast option is a must do. Breakfasts are chief preparded masterpieces. Three main breakfast variations, but all fantastic while eating with a beautiful river view. The Arashiyama area is busy during the day, but when you stay at the Muni we have quiet mornings (until about 9) to enjoy the area crowd-free and then things go quiet after 5PM. So, enjoy the area in the morning and evening and spend the day visiting Kyoto.
The happy hour is limited in beverage choices. However, we preferred to have our cocktails at our restaurant of choice (which Pizza MAMA is a great option).
The room was amazing. It was so hard finding a room that would allow 4 people in Japan so that alone made us happy! All amenities within the room were very nice. Our expectations were exceeded. My favorite was the view from the restaurant. I wish we stayed here longer.
Location!Huge rooms with privacy. Love love love the view and tranquil sound of flowing water.Clean, minimalist, zen-like styling. Our stay includes breakfast and dinner. Dinner was at the contemporary French one-star Michelin restaurant - Muni Alain Ducasse. Exquisite experiences.
No local, Japanese food
The hotel is amazingly designed, has a perfect location in Arashiyama and great amenities in the room. The maisonette was very spacious and comfortable. The breakfast was very tasty and the reception staff very helpful
The hotel is not that well suited for a visit with kids. While they had all the necessary amenities for children, including a baby there was not much they can enjoy in the facilities. Moreover, for some reason breakfast for children is not included in the “breakfast included option” with was very weird as we expected to eat all together (to be fair, they fixed the situation quickly).Besides that there is no view from the maisonette side, which is quite disappointing given the fact its one of the key selling points of the hotel and one of the most expensive rooms in the hotel. Overall, couples would probably enjoy this hotel much more, and while we had a pleasant stay, it wasn’t the most suited one for traveling with kids
Location is in breathtaking Arashiyama, with views from the breakfast table across the river into the mountains surrounding Kyoto. Staff were efficient, competent and polite. Breakfast was substantial and delicious. We stayed in a two-bed suite, which was well appointed and comfortable. If you want to visit Kyoto without being in the centre of town, I can highly recommend this hotel.
Great location and large enough rooms and the breakfast was excellent
Online photos do not impart the serenity and sophistication of the entirety of Muni Kyoto. Apart from the spaciousness of our room (including the bath/shower area) and the size and comfort of the bed, we were taken with the thoughtfulness of the room’s design and its rich, minimalist appointments.
Not one thing.
One of the best hotels we stayed at. Great service, food and location! The staff were very friendly
The building the big rooms the view from the room the view of the river at the restaurant
Everything was perfect
The attention to detail was unmatched. This hotel is the personification of peace. The staff was impeccable, the location was prime, and the room itself was sensational. From the high ceilings to the beautiful interiors, and the crown jewel being the incredible patio, everything was to perfection. 10/10 would recommend and we look forward to our return!
The location, the facilities and the service were top notch
Absolutely nothing, everything was great and I hope I had more time
Super nice design hotel, rooms are beautiful, breakfast is super top (Made by Ducas!!!)
