    Pros +

    • Very clean, attention to details (amenities, snacks)
    • The room was lovely, with lots of extras: snacks, drinks, amenities. The location in the middle of town was really nice to walk through the town. The staff was very friendly and helpful.
    • The property is located in a unique neighborhood, close to shops and restaurants. It is also a walking distance from the Nagahama Castle and the Biwako. The room was very spacious and well equipped, total silence during the night. The hotel also provided some mini bar snacks and cup ramen. The parking lot was easy to find and there were signs indicating where the reception was. We would totally come back for another visit!

    Cons -

    • The pillows weren’t really comfortable but we slept just fine. No neck pain.
    • I think that hot water was limited to 40 C, what is perfect for shower, but not enough for bath -it just cools down before you get in.
    • It would be nice if there was one dimmer light near the bed or near the bathroom entrance that wouldn't be too bright.

Wonderfully appointed room with so many amenities of drinks., toiletries, and snacks. The staff was amazingly accommodating and the room was huge, very much like a suite. It was a true treat to stay there!

Very comfy and large beds, 2 different blankets, quite big room. Location great.

The hotel is located in the old town surrounded by all the beautiful traditional houses. It is about 10 mins walking distance to Lake Biwa. The lady staff who checked us in when we arrived was very professional and kind. She followed us to the public car park nearby to park our car and brought us umbrella to make sure we don't get wet as it was raining. Excellent customer service which you will not receive in big hotels!Room was spacious and clean which comes with a big and nice bathroom. We are grateful to all the staffs at the hotel who has made our stay an enjoyable one!

Amazing location, kind and helpful staff, great amenities, clean and tidy and a huge room by Japanese standards and exceptional value. It couldn’t have been better.

The room was very beautiful & modern looking with lots of amenities. Staff was very friendly and showed us around the property and explained to us everything we needed to know. The beautiful garden near the reception was freely accessible with a place for small fireworks. The surrounding area was very peaceful in the evening but lively and full of interesting shops and restaurants during the day.

It would be nice if there was one dimmer light near the bed or near the bathroom entrance that wouldn't be too bright.

Japanese pre-set breakfast. Cream for coffee. No clear address.

Location is perfect, and the front desk staff very helpful and attentive. Room was large, comfortable and with good facilities, could stay here comfortably for a week.

Location's a little tricky. The street is easy to find, as is the storefront in the Booking.com picture, however the accommodation itself is on the opposite side of the street in a larger facility, with the reception office set back in a small alley. Led to a little confusion on our arrival.

It was spacious and great location

Had to climb stairs to room, also no breakfast options nearby plus very limited restaurant options for dinner

Great central location among the streets of the pretty old town. Our room was very neat and clean with hardwood floors, so it was easy to relax. Our room was over the bakery, so there was a nice faint smell of cake and bread baking.

The small sofa in the room was a bit flimsy for sitting or luggage, so kind of pointless. A bench, low table or proper sofa would be more useful.. i liked the baking smells in room 204, but my wife did not like it very much, too buttery and sweet. In room 204, you can easily hear people in the bakery/breakfast room working and talking. It was not a problem for us because we were up and packing when breakfast was served, but i could clearly hear people working in the bakery in the evening and early morning even though they were not making a lot of noise. So, i think it is worth mentioning to the management. Finally, because i told the staff my concern about noise when i first arrived, they offered me a room on the first floor. I did not take it, however, because it had a strong musty/moldy smell. The second floor room they had booked me in was much fresher.

Great amenities, comfortable beds and clean. Wonderful location. The staff were very helpful when we misplaced an item and helped us get it back.

Super clean and modern design. In a small unique Japanese town of Nagahama. Shiraishi was the best receptionist I’ve ever encountered!!

    7CristinaPosted on: 10-10-2023

I thought the place was very good value for money paid, but beds were not very comfortable and we were on the second flor and the sound of the rain was quite noisy.

The location was great and definitely a great value for money.Free drinks and little snacks on the house as welcome gifts. The room was spacious and the bathroom was also very clean and nice. The staff were so nice and friendly!!

This is only our room but the room we were given had a moldy smell. To the point that I started to have a headache. I thought it was due to air circulation but after having the windows open for half the day it still didnt resolve it. I ended up having a headache because of it and had to ask to be placed in a different room for our 2nd night. The hotel seemed to know that this problem existed but did not communicate proactively and took our reservation regardless. I'm happy they were able to change the room for us for the 2nd night which resolved the issue but it was unfortunate that we did not feel comfortable on the 1st night.
