    • The room was spacious and with an amazing view!! The staff were very helpful and welcoming. They provided us with a complimentary room upgrade that we are thankful for! The food at the restaurant was tasty and the area by the pool is very beautiful. The location is great, with a breathtaking view of the famous Koukounaries beach but also easy access to it, either on foot or with the hotel buses, which are available every 15 minutes.
    • The staff were absolutely amazing. Every single one of them offered a personalised service and did not let me or my mum lift a finger. They were all so kind to my baby girl and really went above and beyond. Paul was so kind and set out a place mat for her at dinner and breakfast (she is only 9 months hahah!) and made sure me and my mum were comfortable and happy. Sofia was amazing really cared for us all. The cleaning staff made the room absolutely spotless. Every single staff member we met really made a good impression. The location of the hotel was remote but perfect if you hire a car as was easier for us with a baby and lots of things that you need. But bus routes are very accessible. The views and the pool are amazing. Really beautiful. I would definitely stay here again. Perfect if you want space and comfort and luxury but within a short bus ride to the main town. The chief and the cooks looked after us so well and came out and said hello. Really impressive food and different foods available.
    • Location and great views

    Cons -

    • The only thing I would comment on is the lack of a lift. Despite the staff being extremely vocal in helping us lift the stroller down it was a lot of effort bringing the stroller up and down the stairs. We were offered a room on the bottom floor however but the dining room and the pool were still up some big stairs. Only minor things but perhaps something to consider for families going with small children (especially if they fall asleep in the stroller and you want a minute to yourself haha!)
    • It does not have an elevator… Rooms are renovates but facilities are old.
    • The staff were rude and unhelpful. No yea and coffee in the room towels had holes in them.

Very peaceful and well appointed hotel. Great location next to the a lovely beach.

Although we coped just fine - don’t understand why there are no lifts or maybe the odd escalator. Bit tough on less able people

    Poor

Dated and old - rooms very old for the price Quality of food was very bad

    7ClairePosted on: 7-24-2024

The staff were really helpful and friendly. The food was good and the location superb with amazing views. Our room was very comfortable. The pool was beautiful and very clean.

The hotel has no lift! Not an issue for us but definitely limiting for people with mobility issues. The pool was beautiful and clean but not child friendly - there was no shallow end and the deepest part is 4meters, Although there was always a lifeguard on duty during the day. There were not enough sun beds at the hotel and to hire sun beds on the beach was really expensive and have to be pre booked and paid for through a website. The hotel is in a stunning location and high up so it gets a beautiful breeze but getting into the town centre requires bus or taxi and while the hotel offers a mini bus free of charge to get in, the last bus is at 8.30pm to return to the hotel after that we were dependant on getting a taxi back and there were never enough taxis and the wait could be up to 1 hour.

Location was fine, 20 minutes to the center by car. The hotel is located on a hill and have 2 beaches near it. They have a shuttle service to both beaches. The breakfast was fine, lots of alternatives. There is a alacart restaurant and the food is very good in the hotel. The staff are also very friendly and kind. The cleaning is good, they clean the room every day.

The shuttle to the beaches can start earlier than 11:00 and sunbathes & umbrella can be free of charge.

Location of the hotel is amazing which provides a perfect view of two different coves. Breakfast meets 4-star expectations. Facilities and housekeeping are generally in good condition. We didn’t have dinner at neither open buffet nor a la carte restaurant, but the food at open buffet didn’t really seem promising (it never does actually). Long story short, I can directly recommend Skiathos Palace.

Small black bathroom flies definitely need to be dealt with. They aren’t biting but still very disturbing. And pink lighting in corridors could be swapped to a less erotic one :) It gives the impression that you are in an adult-only hotel.

The location was very good and close to the beach although you needed transportation to get there however the hotel provided transfers every 15 minutes. We were very pleased with the food at buffet breakfast and dinner they had many choices and the food was tasty.

The hotel and rooms were very disappointing. Certainly not what we expected from a 4-5 star hotel!! There were no lifts in the hotel so suitcases had to be carried up three flights of stairs. We were in a triple room and there was very little space for suitcases etc. our friends who were in a double room and a standard room were in much larger rooms than us so it made no sense why they would squash 3 people into a smaller room. The booking for all the rooms were made at the same time. The air conditioning was not working properly so it was like sauna the first night we called for it to be fixed the maintenance man came the following morning he was very nice and repaired it the best he could. At times the water from our taps were coming out black so once again we called for maintenance to come to fix it.As for the staff we were very disappointed with the service they provided it went from poor to mediocre at best. Particularly the hospitality staff in the restaurant … there were six of us and a small child travelling together we were told that we could not put tables together at breakfast as it was strictly not allowed so we had to sit at different tables often far apart from each other as the tables were set up for up to 4 people. Then for dinner they had larger tables for six or seven people for the buffet. I asked if we could make a reservation for one of the larger tables and they said no we weren’t allowed to reserve them but if we came early enough we should be able to get a large table so we could sit together for dinner. We turned up for dinner we found two long tables and as we were about to sit at one they told us it was reserved and we had to move although they told us they didn’t take reservations. The staff were incredibly unhelpful. Clearly there was a lack of appropriate customer service training and standards for the frontline staff of the hotel.

The hotel was just beautiful. It exceeded our expectations.. everyone was super nice and very helpful. Everyone from the Bellmen , reception, and wait staff were very friendly and super nice. You guys made our stay super special, thank you .

Good location Staff were friendly enough.

Check in was terrible and we were initially put into the wrong room.Staff at that point were somewhat unhelpful.Although we booked a room with a jacuzzi, the jacuzzi was filthy, which they fixed. Then we realized it was broken and couldn’t be used. Management just shrugged their shoulders and said nothing could be done. Eventually they gave us about 15% discount, but that wasn’t the point - we would not have booked there at all if we knew the jacuzzi would not be working. Wee were not interested in their cheaper rooms.Breakfast is bland and drenched in oil.Hotel is very old and run down. Our room is not properly clean.

It was close to the beach

There is no elevator; there is no iron; a lot of mess on the floors especially

It was a pleasure to stay Concierge was awesome

Had a massage and location was awful.Extremely noisy as there were showers situated next to the room .Also as this matter was addressed to reception the lady showed no empathy whatsoever. That was very disappointing as she really didn’t care what I had to say …

The location is the only reason this hotel must rate as a 4 star. The public areas have all been nicely renovated and modernized. The pool deck is stunning and the view is outstanding.

Not a 4 star hotel. The hotel was a total dissapointment. I booked based on the reviews and the rating and the experience did not meet expecations at all with the exception of the view. The hotel is extremely dated. (The lobby gives a false sense of updates). When we got into our room it was dirty- when I see hair that doesn't belong to me in various places it skeeves me out! The bathrooms also have mold on the ceiling and mildew on the caulking- likely due to the lack of air circulation. After two "cleanings" post check in before we settled and no difference to the cleanliness, we changed rooms. This room had an air conditioner that didn't work and unfortunately it also emitted a very unpleasant smell. We changed a third time and finally just settled in. The air worked better but still put off a smell and the bathroom still had some mold/mildew.In the morning breakfast was dissapointing and some mornings I couldn't find a clean bowl for my yogurt. The whole fruit that was part of the buffet was bruised and in some cases had mold. Honestly, I wish I could get my money back. Most of the other guests of the hotel appeared to be there through package vacations so I can't be sure but assume they paid much less for the hotel than we did. We also found it slightly frustrating that at the bar and Maratha beach (which is affiliated with the hotel) we were told we either had to pay cash or charge to the room. We paid way too much for what was supposed to be a an indulgent experience and it was highly dissapointing. The only positive is that most staff members we encountered were extremely friendly and polite. (Although we did have a difference in opinion on what clean meant!). I have no problem with dated (although at 4 stars it wouldn't be my expectation) but it should be clean with working air. Definitely not a 4 star rating.

Wonderful view of the sea and sky and distant mainland from around the huge sparkling blue swimming pool next to the bar and restaurant with lots of plants and shade.

    No lifts for the elderly.

    8PeterPosted on: 9-1-2023

The scent on arrival and the cleanliness in general of the hotel. The pool was lovely and the view from the pool area was great too. The breakfast buffet was tasty. And the live traditional music on Tuesday evening was wonderful! Finally, the help from reservations team to accommodate our last minute request due to flight sickness was exceptional, can't thank you enough!

No welcome pack or free water on arrival. The layout of the room and the design of the bathroom wasn't ideal. No clothes line to hang wet items safely on balcony, no kettle (can get boiled water on request) and the hair dryer was weak. A newer more comfortable bed was also expected for a room of this standard.

It’s location, the pool and the private beach

Good at main restaurant and service were both average

    9dinaPosted on: 8-24-2023

Beautiful view from every location of the hotel. Close to many beautiful beaches. Pool area was great.

The breakfast is too repetitive for a 1 week stay. No changes at all. If you have any food or sweets in the room, the ants smell it from miles away and come to it. Had this problem in 2 rooms.

    6Hamilton-smithPosted on: 8-17-2023

    Nice staff (waiters)

It was an old and tired building - could def use a renovation! The bathroom tiles had some mould in them. The rooms were small. I think they include the outside patio in the size of the room, so it doesn’t match expectations. It was disappointing.
