    Pros +

    • Great staff and spa.
    • The indoor swimming pool
    • We went as I was planning to propose on lake garda and told the staff this and they were excellent. They helped advise a photographer and had rose petals and champagne in the room for when we got back. Luckily she said yes! They also took us and picked us up from a restaurant as there was no Taxis available. Everything was perfect and the food was great. 5 stars isn't a high enough rating for this place and the staff!

    Cons -

    • A lady at the reception knocked out door at 23.00pm ring the bellThat fisrt hotel staff did thatAs we been to many hotels but that inconvience first time we encountered
    • The wardrobe door and bathroom door confusing design to open, when open the bathroom door block the toilet seat legroom.
    • Our room on the booking the pictures were nothing like our room we were given which was a bit disappointing

Clean and well organised quiet ambience including wide garden directly lead to the private beach, restaurant and pool area ( wasn't open due to the season but well maintained), friendly staffs.

The wardrobe door and bathroom door confusing design to open, when open the bathroom door block the toilet seat legroom.

Spacious room, super clean, neutral and modern decoration.Beautiful garden with access to the lake, perfect for riding bikes during the sunset. I really love this place ❤️

Very clean and well presented. Staff were exceptional

    Breakfasts were good.

The room was very dirty, and had had dogs stay and lots of dog hair was visible. The 3rd bed was a soft and basic pull out bed and very dirty. Not enough hangers and it took 3 hours to give us more! The airconditioning was also faulty and never got repaired. The Gym was ridiculous, poorly kept and lacking facilities.

The ac was very cold which is rare in italy, the hotel was 10 min away from desenzano centro, pool was big and staff was friendly.

Some parts of the room was dirty, the curtains did not close all the way so the sun will get through when your sleeping, it wont be fully dark.

Everything about our stay at Splendido Bay was perfect! The hotel and the grounds were beautiful, and the view of the lake was stunning! We didn't eat dinner here at all, but the breakfast was lovely every day. My husband wanted to make sure I mentioned the omelette he had each morning as he said it was superb!. By far, the best thing about this hotel is the staff. They were warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in. Everyone goes out of their way to be friendly and speak to you. We had our dog with us too, and everything was just smooth and easy. They also loved her there which always helps :) Thank you for such a wonderful stay

The location of the hotel right on Lake Garda could not be better. Great food especially in the Michelin star fish restaurant

The indoor spa facilities were undergoing maintenance and were unavailable. Noise at night from other rooms was annoying but was dealt with when complained.

    Breakfast was good.

Hotel offers discount on own homepage, but is not willing to give Booking.com guest a discount. My room in the ancient building (Palazzo) has been suffering from constant noise from spa ventilation, no other room offered, although hotel occupation wasa quite low. Hotel offers only one in-place restaurant.

The hotel is a high class hotel, with trained staff at the reception. Being at Lake Garda for sure is an asset. The premises are clean and whenever you have some wish or request, there are people that will pay attention.

    1. At arrival, we were told about an upgrade for the type of that we had booked - I perceived upgrade as a severe downgrade - the access to the garden (actually there was no garden, but a narrow dark pathway) was much less appealing, darker, narrower, less privacy, a much smaller lounge set up. The room was darker, worse arrangement of furniture and seating options, and the bed was right in the middle of the room - I disliked it very much - We didn't get it at all, why this was regraded an upgrade. There was no bathtub in the bath room, maybe the shower was better, but it didn't play any role for us, because of our pleasant anticipation of sharing a hot bath together after a 5 hours drive. For dinner we had reserved a specific nicely placed table, which was then given away to another couple. As a compensation we were offered 2 proseccos, but when the bill was due, we where asked 3 times if we had wine, and what about the proseccos. It was somehow tiring to repeatedly explain that these were compensations for the failure of the personell that had given away our reserved table. This was a weird experience. The fish that we had was dry, un-tasty - my strong suspicion was that is was precooked and just warmed up. The vegetables were so-so. And on leaving the restaurant the waiter asked us several times for our room number to allocate the bill. On the day of departure, we asked at the reception if we could stay for some more time at the hotel's pool. We were told that this would be ok until 1:00 pm (2 hours after checkout), but if we intend to stay longer an extra fee of €50 per person would be due. I don't know why other premium hotels didn't charge us anything for some hours of extra stay, but €100 for 1 or 2 additional hours just using a sun longer? Crazy! We booked an overnight charging for our Tesla-Car, but when leaving the next day we found out that the staff had forgotten to lock the car overnight. This seemed very unprofessional.

hotel was clean. Waking up to beautiful views and clean environment truly sets the mood for the rest of the day. Good breakfast!Nice atmosphere, but the staff at the reception were very rude and not very accommodating.

The hotel was modern, and the pool and spa facilities were great. Breakfast options were exceptional. The staff at the pool were fantastic and super friendly, as were the majority of the restaurant staff we encountered during our trip.We were upgraded to a bigger suite during our stay, great bed and shower room.

For this review, we wanted to give a little context - we have travelled across the north of Italy for two weeks staying in similar priced / and starred properties. WeAll in all, we found this hotel wasn’t good value for money. At every opportunity we felt like we were being fleeced for additional extras, for example it was €50 for a cabana by the pool, certain breakfasts eggs were charged at €10 +, Room service was an extra €20 on top of food.We chose to travel by train during the course of our trip, and a word of warning - it is IMPOSSIBLE to get a taxi (there is a huge shortage, with waits up to 2hrs+) from the Splendido to go anywhere (and they know it). To use their shuttle on the rare occasion it was available it is €25 per 10 minutes!!! On one occasion, we found ourselves stranded (2hr walk) and were unable to get back to the hotel after hiring a boat for the day - the staff didn’t seem to care, and didn’t make any effort to help us, this led having us asking locals in cars on the side of the road to ask for a kind stranger to take us home. In the end we had to pay €100 for someone to take us back to the hotel via boat (again a 10Minute journey) During our stay there were quite a few chippy comments about why we didn’t have a car during our trip (which we felt were quite rude) This sadly meant that we couldn’t explore the local towns because we were literally trapped in the hotel. We had one incident which left a sour taste in our mouths - we pre ordered (the day before) a ‘picnic’ to be made for a boat trip we were going on. It was quite a ordeal, as we were asked to meet with the head waiter to discuss what we wanted, choose our wine from the wine list etc. Maybe we were wrong to assume, however, when staying in a 5* resort paying £££for our stay we expected a lot more than we got the next day….

Restaurants, breakfast, room, staff and location we're excellent!

Mansion room of my in-laws was on the small side.

Fantastic location on shore of Lake Garda, luxurious and spacious rooms, superb breakfast, very nice Italian restaurant. Great outdoor family pool. Very very nice indoor pool, gym and saunas

The air conditioning is centrally controlled and kept reverting to 25C in our room: so not enough night time relief against the heatwave outside

    Exceptional

    - Too cold outside swimming pool- Pool bar personal was “blind”. You need to go close to the bar…
