BON Hotel Waterfront Richards Bay

It was very clean and the room was comfortable. The hotel asthetics were beautiful. The staff was lovely.

The Dstv, Netflix Showmax apps not being installed was a huge inconvenience. Dstv played in the worst quality. Netflix and Showmax are required in the rooms. The breakfast needed more options. The amount paid for breakfast, needed a variety of food options.Proper cutlery is needed in the rooms.

Breakfast was ample to choose from.The Location is great.

I had one coffee mug and no teaspoon.No pen or pad had to request one.Most annoying was the Shower.It was clogged with human hair.Had to call in the maintenace person to unclog the outlet.Next morning was the same.

The noise emanating from the adjacent club was maintained at maximum volume until approximately 02:30. While this may have been a one-time occurrence, it was not appreciated as it disrupted sleep.

The bed was very comfortableThe restaurant staff were very kind and pleasant.

1. Our room was not clean when we arrived at 9:45PM at night, particularly the bathroom. It was cleaned superficially, but for instance:a.) The bath tub had not been washed properly, and the previous occupant's talcum powder was still evident in the bathroom.b.) Also the fabric on the stools at the base of the bed was very dirty and not something I would ever sit on.2. We had only one coffee cup in the bedroom and no teaspoons.3. Our flight was delayed, and we arrived late (9:45PM). On arrival we tried to order coffee (real coffee not instant) and we were told it was not available, all services were closed.4. We were not told by Bookings.com that breakfast wasn't included in our stay, which was very disappointing and quite frankly duplicitous.5. The breakfast buffet was very nice, but exorbitantly expensive. We paid R520 for essentially coffee, an omelette for me and two fish cakes and a bit of fruit for my wife. There was no option to order off a menu, the buffet was the only option. As a vegetarian most of what's on the buffet I don't eat, so I was astonished that, first we had to pay for breakfast, and second the cost!6. On the second morning we had no water. We could not flush a toilet or wash at all, and no-one could give an answer as to why, or how long it would take to restore the water. When questioned what they were doing about it we were told the maintenance people were called and would be there in 10 minutes, only to find out they are on shift and would only arrive an hour later. They lied! I had an important business meeting I was late for because of this.7. The front desk staff were less than helpful, and seemed inexperienced and out of their depth.

Lovely friendly staff, waterfront location

Proximity to nearby bar/club with pounding bass from sound system that went on from afternoon to 3am.Average hotel, ok for a short stay, more suited to conference groups.

Lovely modern hotel, very easy to access and park. We only stayed for one night while travelling but I would totally recommend it to anyone needing accommodation in Richards Bay. It's also very well located for local restaurants.

Nothing really

The hotel is beautiful and it's clean

We hardly slept, there were guests that were screaming and banging doors the whole night and the stuff failed to call them into order, we reported 3times during the night that we couldn't sleep, very disappointed

Staff were great

Nothing in particular it was average and the decor was actually dark and terrible. Like a nightclub nd a casino had leftover decor that was placed here.

I liked the staff,they were so helpful and friendly.

They didn't warn us about the other lift,that it got issues.

The location and the dam view

When I booked online I selected including Breakfast and upon my our arrival was assisted by the hotel manager even confirmed that our bookings includes Breakfast. Then out of the blue were asked to pay a ridiculous amount for Breakfast. I showed her the screenshot of my bookings, then she said they have informed Bookings.com not to advertise Breakfast anymore. This made me angry as my bookings did indicate that Breakfast included for 3 days.This was just so unprofessional and was so disappointed ?

Break fast was nice ,if only time to close breakfast serving can be extended to 11:00 cause 10:30 is too early .The hotel is in a good location and there’s a lot of restaurants around the area.

Their breakfast was awesome and not pricey.

I did not have a good sleep at the beds were terrible they need to consider changing their beds and also the sound from Zula beach it went on until the morning it's not good for the hotel guests who booked for relaxation.
