SALA Samui Chaweng Beach Resort

The beach is full of corals, making it impossible to swim without hurting your feet. The hotel has only one swimming pool, which closes at 7 pm, so when the sun sets and it’s finally not too hot, there’s no place to swim. Fortunately, we booked a villa with a private pool. We stayed five nights but never felt like we were on vacation — it felt more like waiting out the days. I’ve never been to a resort where you can’t swim in the sea. A vacation hotel with a pool that closes at 7 pm and no entertainment is really boring, especially for kids. The Kids Club is also only suitable for very young children, so slightly older kids won’t enjoy it at all.

Incredible architecture, great staff. The room with infinity pool and ocean view was amazing. Good food, great views. Not crowded, felt relaxed. Incredible cocktails at the beach bar.

Everything about the property was amazing. It was clean, welcoming, not overcrowded, relaxing, and beautiful. Staff were unbelievable friendly and helpful.

The property is absolutely beautiful with many facilities. The interior design is super modern and chic. Loved the vibe!Our villa was lovely and spacious and had all the amenities we could ask for. Super clean as well. When we arrived, the staff made us choose our preferred pillows, lotions and soap for our stay with the little samples they had created. This personalized touch was amazing! The app they have to seek additional services and look for offers is super good and we always got prompt responses from the management team if we needed anything.The best thing about the stay was the staff. They are so warm and welcoming - we were greeted by every single staff member whenever we passed by or met them. Anytime of the day!

Nothing. It exceeded expectations.

The location is exceptional, peaceful, beachfront, and close to everything we needed. The room was spacious, the staff were warm and helpful, and the overall atmosphere created the perfect balance between relaxation and comfort.

The food could be better, including the breakfast. Room service wasn’t great value for money.

Breakfast was average at best. The variety of options was lean and didn't feel fresh.The room lighting is a mess, with a lot of buttons spread around the room that only turn on and off a single light.

There was not one thing not to like! Treated us like a VIP from start to finish. Staff knew our room # and name and were so kind and accommodating,

This resort is like a magical dream. For the second year in a row, I’ve chosen this destination—and this exact place—to spend my annual vacation.The rooms are top-notch compared to most nearby resorts, the beach is spacious, clean, and offers a wide range of surrounding services. The pool is large and well-maintained, the restaurants are delicious, and the views are breathtaking.I highly recommend spending your vacation here.The Oceanfront Balcony Pool Suite is my favorite choice.

Some small points, but we still would love to come back again ;)- The balcony's (at least ours) was with zero privacy and 180 degrees visibility. So we didn't use it.- at check in we got the information that we can't have breakfast at the beach side restaurant. (solved after my complaint about it, so no big deal in the end, but don't know whether this works always and with full occupancy)

The staff at this hotel go above and beyond to make you comfortable during your stay. I enjoyed my daily breakfasts. I stayed in a garden villa with a pool and it was a very beautiful room. I stayed in Chaweng because I was meeting up with a friend's family vacation. Chaweng is a very busy, extremely touristy, "plastic"-feeling part of the island. Not typically an area I would stay, though it is only an 8 minute drive from the airport. The Sala Chaweng is close enough to the main street of Chaweng that it is easily walkable, but also far enough away that you can leave the chaos and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of Sala. They put care into customizing my room with my preferences for pillows and scents, which are all offered at check-in. The spa was by far my favorite spot. While it's definitely a splurge considering the cost of similarly-named services you can find on the main street of Chaweng, the quality of the services were far superior and the spa atmosphere and treatment rooms were beautiful and relaxing. I definitely recommend treating yourself at least once during your trip.

The Sala was great. Next time I might try the other Sala location on Koh Samui to be away from the chaos of Chaweng.

Very nice resort hotel, spacious comfortable room, tasty breakfast with good variety and pleasant cheerful staff

Some of the guests were very loud and vulgar. They were not able to control their kids nor themselves. Even at the pool and beach they were very loud screaming while talking. Ruined the peacefulness and tranquility for a resort at this caliber.

The staff was nice

It was not worth the money we spent on the room and the first night we didn’t even have an ocean view like we had booked due to the trees. Also, the food in the restaurant was not very good . We had booked a room for our children with two twin beds but the room we got had a queen size bed.

Well located, good breakfast, access to sea, excellent spa, friendly staff, own pool, two big outside pools

Too many pigeons disturb the breakfast experience (must be resolved), bar drinks are not very exciting

Needs a lot of maintenance. It’s quite worn down.

From check in to departure, our stay was just wonderful. The staff were all friendly and helpful. I loved the small but thoughtful touches - the welcome drink and towel, the ability to select our pillows and lotion scents, the sandwich and fruit platter as we waited for our room. Our Garden balcony room was fabulous. It was clean and spacious, though the clear glass tub/shower in the middle of the bathroom space meant that we'd have to curtain it off and only one person could be using that space at a time. The Garden pool was lovely and quiet, while the Beach pool and area was luxurious. We had dinner at The Tent and breakfasts at Sexy Fish and they were wonderful. The breakfast buffet had a great varied selection.The resort is a quick walk to restaurants and the busier Chaweng Beach strip. Loved the location - we walked down the beach for more casual lunch and to get a Thai massage (a must do!). This was our first time staying at a five-star hotel and it exceeded our expectations.

The one small drawback was the daybed/second bed. It was a bit firm and uncomfortable for our teenage daughter to sleep on.

The room was perfect. Super clean and is great to have your own pool. The hotel was very peaceful and close to the airport and all the shops and restaurants. It was the best stay we had in Thailand during our trip. The breakfast at Sexy fish was the best we had in Thailand. With variety every day and a good selection of western food. I will definitely come back.

The beach is beautiful but the tide is too low in the morning to be able to swim.
