    Pros +

    • The property is in bad shape needs serious maintenance. I stayed at the wooden bungalow, I love the room but they’re not properly maintained. The staffs are amazing, and extremely helpful. they’re the ones that keep this resort alive.
    • It had a great snorkeling beach with lots of coral and small aquarium fish, the room was spacious with balcony and good variety of tv stations even in English, the breakfast had a good selection with freshly prepared omelettes and was located on their beach restaurant with indoor and outdoor seating and the staff there were so helpful and friendly, plenty of lounges by the pools or beach
    • Didn’t worth the money.

    Cons -

    • The property is rundown, needs serious maintenance but idk, they willing to spend money on the new beach club but doesn’t have money to maintain their rooms and facilities or at lease give proper training to their staff. Their staffs are genuinely helpful but I can see that they have poor trainings
    • The lift to the beach was out of order, the tile floors throughout the property and faux wooden indoor and outdoor walkways to pools and restaurants and steps are an accident waiting to happen in the rainy season or when wet, I slipped and fell on the wet wooden walkway on the way to brekkie, no harm done!,the steep long downhill entrance road going into the property from the main road was the most dangerous part of riding my motor scooter in LBJ with big cars coming up. the washboard rutted road surface, the free wifi packed up in my room and no amount of pleading with staff got it working again, oh and the pools they had never had clear water
    • Unfortunately, I was quite disappointed with my stay. The air conditioning didn’t work properly, so the room was very hot and uncomfortable, especially at night. On top of that, the internet didn’t work at all during my stay, which was really frustrating. I expected better service for the price I paid.

The food at the restaurant was good if a little expensive for what you got, which is the over all impression of the hotel. The room was nice, there were a few issues but nothing that made the room uninhabitable, but it was fairly expensive for what you got. The restaurant staff were lovely though. We had 3 balconies, but no seating on them so you either had to take an inside chair out or sit on the floor. Denny, one of the concierge people, who we dealt with mostly was very helpful and informative. He helped us book our tour to see the Komodo dragons and drove us into town and came to get us when we were ready to go back to the hotel.

I made a mistake about the dates when booking through an app and when I messaged them about it they were happy to let me change the dates, but kept telling me to change it myself. When I told that that the app wouldn’t let me as the exact same type of room wasn’t available they still kept telling me to modify the booking through the app. I had to go back and for the with them multiple times to convince them to cancel the booking on their end so I could rebook the room. Then when I scheduled the airport transfer through them they confirmed the transfer, but never showed up at the airport to pick us up. Then when we booked to go back to the airport they were 15 minutes later than the time we arranged the shuttle for. The day we went on the Komodo dragon tour we had to leave early in the morning so we had a packed breakfast which we ordered the day before. When we went to the restaurant to collect it there was bags of food on the counter, but no one there to tell me which one was ours. I waited for about 5-10 minutes before I had to wander through the kitchen calling out to find someone who worked there to tell us which bag was ours.

    Comfy bed, spacious room,

Shower too weak, bathroom layout - the door blocking everything when the door is open, the ventilation fan is very noisy. The room was super noisy from the rooftop when it was raining mid night. Too remote from my liking.

Price was good. But then once we saw the facilities in person it explained why it was in the lower end of price...

Facilities are old. The building is old, the rooms are old and outdated. The upkeep of the resort is lacking. Cracks in the walls, the sink, etc. The esthetic of the place was very poorly presented. Wouldn't recommend to stay if the idea is to relax and enjoy the resort. However, if just to sleep in and do day trips everything, then it is ok. Wouldn't recommend dining/eating more than 1 at their restaurant.

Sylvia Resort Komodo1. The beach is dirty, lots of trash, leaves not cleaned, pieces of wood not cleaned, paving blocks scattered, overall looks untidy and shabby.2. The pedestrian needs renovation, the repairs are patchwork, untidy, the ceramic floor is uneven, especially along the beach.3. When we entered the room, the floor was not clean enough, the floor was oily and sticky, and the housekeeping response was slow to this.4. The supporting building looks shabby, not maintained5. Overall, this resort needs a thorough overhaul, it would be a shame to leave it alone considering its very good location

    9JessPosted on: 4-8-2025

Amazing locations, right on the beach with an incredible view of the islands. We stayed in one of the renovated rooms. Which was nice however the bathrooms still need a bit of an upgrade/ clean. Overall it was a nice stay and we would come back.

The resort is out of the main town which is okay because you can get a cheap car in or hire a scooter. Makes it more peaceful. The restaurant is a little dated and very basic. Needs an upgrade and new menu.

    1. The scenery with direct access to the beach.2. Comfortable bed with more than average room size.3. Close (within walking distance) to Sylvia Hill or commonly known as Amelia Hill. You will have direct access to view sunrise and sunset.4. Breakfast has different variety every day.

    1. Restaurant menu for breakfast and all other times are vary, but the taste are average.2. Air conditioner is weak. for overseas travellers from the non south East region will find the room still warm at times.3. Location is far from the main town. so, to get into the town, you will need to use the service from a private driver. Rp100,000 for one-way trip (10-15 minutes drive). same price to get back to the hotel.4. The hotel is old and in need of maintenance.

No all pictures on the website not real property need lots of maintenance leaking toilets no hot water very poor condition of the rooms, lot of damp on the walls, leaking roofs , breakfast disgusting almost every day shortage of items like fruits mostly available only rice, noodles. I will never recommend to any person. Location very far from restaurant and shops need scouter or car

Locations, the resort design and the surrounding area.

The bath room floor tiles. Very slippery when it's wet.

    10AjPosted on: 12-17-2024

Close to town, but not walkable, you'll need a scooter. Ask for two room cards because one is required for the power in the room. The Air Con just barely was able to keep up, so you'll want to run it whilst you're gone. Breakfast was good, standard options. The pools were a nice refresher after a long day.

Need a key card to power the room and the front desk will charge you to get a 2nd one or if you lose it.

    Leaving / checking out

The staff are careless and they don’t help. They have no knowledge of customer service. Probably the company doesn’t take care of them. When we arrived in the room the window was open and the room was full of mosquitoes. The hotel is full of mosquitos and the hotel doesn’t take any countermeasures to that. Such as candle and much more that can be used in open space. The room wasn’t clean, bed sheet were dirty, the glass in the bathroom was dirty with used tooth paste from previous guests. Fridge was molded and dirty. The toilet door was broken and couldn’t remain in the close position. A/c and its filter were dirty. Facilities needs maintenance. No power or socket near the bed. We couldn’t get an hairdryer the first day. By the beach they were no chair, we ask many times if we could have one and none helped us. So we moved one by ourselves from the pool. The beach is full of plastic, even if some rubbish arrive from the sea. The staff should be responsible for cleaning it. Thai hotel seems to be abandoned since long time. I asked multiple times to have a late check out and the answer was no even of 3 rooms ( same type) were available for booking on this platform when I offer to pay they accept to give us a late check out. So ridiculous.
