Lake Hotel Sóc Sơn

Very clean hotel with a great location. The breakfasts were good. The reception staff were extremely friendly and welcoming — especially one lady we chatted with while waiting for a taxi. Highly recommended!

The staff was great. They escorted us to the room, patiently answered our questions, and provided transport to the airport for a small fee (about 5$ usd). The decor of the room was extravagant, so this was enjoyable for us.

The room was clean but dusty (air particles produced from curtains most likely) Because I’m an asthma patient I had to wear my mask overnight. It might be fine for others.

The facility was good, clean and especially the staff were really nice.. It's a good choice for people who want to avoid the city a little bit. The hotel is very close to the local market and everything there is super affordable. The only downside is even though the hotel serves food but in the menu there's no price included. Highly recommend this place,

Unclean Rooms: The rooms were not clean enough, with noticeable dust everywhere, including behind the bed mattress. The overall cleanliness was disappointing for a 3* hotel, cleaning staff should take care more and they didn't even refill coffee a d tea we had in room.Dirty Kitchen Dishes: The staff claimed the kitchen dinnerware and flatware were cleaned, but they were still dirty, requiring guests to clean them again before use.The receptionist told us(Not Hà) she will clean but when we saw the state of the dinnerware and flatware,we had to clean again.Unpleasant Odors: The room had a lingering cigarette smell upon arrival. Opening the windows and using the fan helped slightly, but the towels and blankets also had an unpleasant odor that persisted despite requesting additional cleaning.Lack of Mini Fridges: The rooms lacked mini fridges, which could inconvenience guests wanting to store food or drinks.There is only a shared fridge down in the shared kitchen.Limited Breakfast Variety: The breakfast was basic, offering only toast and fried egg, which may not satisfy guests expecting more variety.Distance from Hanoi and Airport: The hotel is farther from both Hanoi city center and the airport than expected, which may inconvenience guests planning to explore the city or needing quick airport access.Transportation Challenges: Securing a Grab ride can be difficult due to the hotel’s location. Guests may need to rely on the hotel staff to arrange transportation, which could be inconvenient.Language Barrier: The staff only communication is via translate app on their phones..

I stayed here for many days multiple times. Whenever I go to Hanoi I would take the extra time to travel to Lake Hotel to stay here. The staff, day and night treated me like family. Extremely hospitableThere is a wonderful restaurant just south near the underpass by the highway. I ate there many times. The owners are very welcoming and treat you like family also. There's also whole duck(Vit) down the road for sale you can eat at the hotel kitchen table. The staff can also recommend places to eat nearby. Lots of beauty shops for the ladies in town. Perfect quiet part of town if you like that atmosphere.

I honestly can't think of anything negative. Nothing comes to mind.I wish I could have taken the receptionist Hà out for dinner... But she wouldn't date someone who speaks English. But she would date a Chinese. A little hint for any young Chinese men staying there.

Claim to have a lake view for the room. The room looked out onto stairs and a roof! Poor description

It is close by the airport but the surrounding area has not much to offer. None tourist area without a reasonable restaurant or cafe nearby. But inside hotel very nice bed and bathroom not so impressed with drilling work happening in the morning. Got us up to go straightaway.

this is close to the airport which is why I chose it but its about 40 mins from the centre (its cheap to get there in a taxi tho) All the staff were helpful. They phoned the local eating place and they agreed to stay open for us as we arrived late, they were helpful in getting us a taxi and the taxi driver took us to get SIM cards and fixed my phone and didn't even want more money (obviously we gave him waiting time) but the local people are very friendly and hospitable. The room was great with a view of the lake, the bed was really comfortable. Overall it was a brilliant hotel for the cost.

There is just one local eating place near by (not the fault of the hotel)

There were no close by restaurants with English menus. The menu provided in the room was vietnamese. I had a nice view of a cemetery and dirty lake. I'm pretty sure this hotel is also a brothel. Lots of single men acting repulsive walking in and instantly getting a key to go straight to their first floor room. The sheets appeared to be left from previous customer as they had bits of debree and hair.

Clean, pretty, good amenities, staff is excellent. Great customer service. They can help you book taxis, find food etc. I enjoyed being in the countryside for a little bit.

You’re in the country so you really have to plan things. It can be tough to get taxis and finding food because of the location. Restaurants do not deliver to the hotel. It also said it had breakfast and I saw reviews saying they had food but no one mentioned anything and I didn’t see a kitchen so maybe you have to ask them to make you food?

Unexpected breakfast facilities. You get a toast and eggs in the kitchen.

Everything was fine, they let us check in at night and check out a bit later. The room was modern, big and comfortable.

It was clean, but the bed sheets had some stains (however, they smelled fresh).

Location is in the middle of nowhere, still 20min away from the airport and about 45min away from Old Town Hanoi. I like the interior, however, it was very noisy.

Came into the hotel at night, gave off a weird vibe. Room was already open as I entered the hotel, bed could have been cleaner. People talking loudly in the corridors and staff was not bothered by it. Grab not usable in the area.

Friendly and helpful staff, having been only pleasant and kind to me. Rooms are spacious and clean. Price for the accommodation is good in comparison to other hotels. Very good, well recommended.

No Grab service available in the area.25 minutes by car from the airport.The receptionist initially requested an extra 120K for a pre-booked room, only waiving the charge after mentioning Booking.com support.Limited breakfast options (a small sandwich with egg).Some guests were smoking in the kitchen and lobby, which was unpleasant.

The hotel is beautifully decorated & beds are very comfortable. We stayed here because it's close to the airport and we had an early flight the next day. There aren't any restaurants in the neighbourhood but we did find a great street market and bought picnic dinner.

The hotel had a strange energy. We seemed to be the only people staying there and the passageways were totally dark at night, it just felt weird. In the middle of the night there was a lot of noise in the passage, presumably from other guests arriving but we never saw anyone.

Really nice, cozy and modern room.Staff available and quick to answer.They can order for you the dinner in a close restaurant and bring it directly in the room.

Unfortunately the breakfast is not ... a real breakfast.This is the only big reason where they are losing in evaluation.Maybe it would be more correct to explain it in the description, or, giving the number of tourists they are receiving, to increase a bit the price and offer a good breakfast.The breakfast is all you can see from my picture: 2 pieces of supermarket bread, 1 fried egg and 2 small pieces of vegetables.All of this done while you are waiting seated in the kitchen (yes, in the kitchen not in a breakfast room) with all the dishes from before you in the sink, with the table dirty (and cleaned hastily on the moment with the handkerchiefs), with only one table with four seats available for all guests (so some have to wait standing while the others infront of them are eating), and the cooking is done by the same girl from the front desk (yes, the receptionist so in case she is doing a check in or check out you have to wait for your "breakfast").I would have given a really bad evaluation because of the breakfast, but then I have to remind myself that also the price paid is quite low (almost half the price in Hanoi downtown) so is correct to evaluate it based also on the price-quality ratio. Nevertheless they could do a lot better.Moreover during the night there was a continous metalic rumor very disturbing (the fridge from the other room?).And they are not speaking english at all. But in somehow they manage to comunicate through google translator and they are quick in doing it (got experienced).Is not very close to the airport: it takes around 20-25 minutes by taxi to get at the international flights terminal.

Our room neighbours were very loud so the lady at the reception change our room. Very good service at good price.
