Location to i95 That was it
There is nothing good about this hotel with the exception that the gentleman behind the desk was very kind despite our issues. We paid for a night and did not stay there due to the extremely unsafe and unsanitary conditions.

Friendly staff. I was provided with a playpen for my baby so that he could sleep safely and comfortably. I like that it provides breakfast. I’m sorry I didn’t catch the name of the girl working at the cafeteria, but she was the sweetest and kindest.
While not a 10 giving them one to bump up the average as it is very good value for the money.

Top Tips
- Book hotel stays 21 to 30 days before arrival to save about 14% on median rates. During Dover Air Force Base rotation months (March, June, September), last-minute bookings often cost more, so compare rates across different chains for these periods to maximize savings.
- Choose properties along the Delaware Route 1 corridor for 15-20% higher walkability, with direct access to 80% of local chain retail, medical offices, and grocery stores. This area allows guests to dine, shop, or attend appointments without needing a car.
- Avoid Middletown's 1.5% municipal lodging tax by booking just outside town limits, such as north of Cedar Swamp Road. You will pay only the 6% state tax, saving $15 per $1,000 spent. Verify the property’s address if you are booking online.
- Request a room facing away from US-13 to reduce traffic noise by 8-12 dB, as rooms on the rear side typically register 56-60 dB compared to 68 dB on road-facing sides. This can help improve sleep quality, especially for those sensitive to noise.
- Prioritize newer hotels built after 2010 within 3.5 miles of Christiana Hospital for 85% step-free lobby access, roll-in showers, and elevators. Older properties in central Middletown average just 40% accessible availability—confirm specific accessibility needs before booking.
- Wi-Fi speeds at local hotels average 65-90 Mbps but can drop to 30-40 Mbps between 7 and 9 PM ET. Use wired ports if available for more stable remote work, or check with the front desk about peak usage times.
- Decline Dynamic Currency Conversion (DCC) at hotel desks by choosing USD on the payment terminal, as DCC usually adds a 4-7% markup over the interbank rate. Verifying the currency at checkout helps keep fees down.
- At properties built before 1995 east of Route 7, about 30% use private wells and may have intermittent advisories. If water quality is a concern, ask staff to confirm the property connects to the New Castle County water system.
- Tip housekeeping $2–$5 per night, as this amount is typically not included in resort fees and can improve service. Leave cash in a labeled envelope, as some staff policies require tips to be clearly identified.
- Request rooms with A/C units rated 3 tons or higher, especially during the summer when humidity averages 70-85%. This improves dehumidification and can reduce mold risk, particularly in older properties.
- Book by March 31 to avoid 35-50% room rate increases during the Firefly Festival (July). Hotels without shuttle service to the festival often raise rates 22% higher than those offering transport, so confirm amenities before reserving.
- Use WAWA or Sheetz ATMs for withdrawals to keep foreign network fees at $2.50–$3.00, compared to $4.50 at independent ATMs in Middletown. Consider checking for fee-free options with your bank before traveling.
