Pros +

  • Friendly staff
  • Great location if you need a place to stay along your travel route. Decent price before pet fee is added. Fairly clean rooms with minimal maintenance issues. Building seems pretty well maintained overall and is kept tidy.
  • There was ample parking. The lobby looked new and the rooms were updated and very clean. Front desk clerk, Taylor, was very cheerful.

Cons -

  • Na
  • The property: Pillows and mattresses in our 3rd floor room weren't great. The pillows were all flat (no variety to accommodate different tastes like many hotels have) and the mattresses were just not comfortable for some reason we couldn't really pin down. Climate control in the room wasn't steady--it would swing from freezing to too hot with very small adjustments. That being said, the water pressure was the worst part of the room. It was pitifully weak considering it's a hotel and you should, at the very least, be able to expect a good shower. The pillows and mattresses, the climate control, and the water pressure weren't issues at all when we stayed the previous week on the 2nd floor, so I guess they have some good rooms and some disappointing ones. The staff: The staff at check-in was completely fine. The staff as we were leaving seemed to be having a bit of a day (had an "Assistant Something Something" tag on and super chunky front highlights. She stopped us on our way out as though she was checking us out (we were walking out without formally checking out, as people normally do now), but I thought there must be something more to it because it's not common to be stopped on the way out. Turns out what she was doing was adding a pet fee to our bill (which, ok...we booked the room by checking that we were bringing a cat and we brought it), but she was apparently irritated enough with this that she then went into the office to complain about it to a coworker. As I was waiting with my kids for my husband to bring the car around, she finished by loudly whining to the coworker that, "Even if it's a service animal, it should be on the reservation!", and looked directly at me but said nothing to me. A somewhat less than welcoming experience. If the hotel staff have a problem with how their reservations from booking.
  • The hallway on the 3rd floor was 61 degrees, very cold, and in need of an update. Kids from a neighboring room were up early, were loud and running up and down the hallway. Not the hotel's fault, just bad parenting. Breakfast was lacking options but it was the final half hour.
