Denpaku Akakina Hotel

Great location. I really like the north of the island. It’s quieter than Naze. It’s a 15min drive to the airport - great when you arrive and convenient when you leave. There is a good supermarket nearby, too. The staff are fantastic - professional, friendly, and very responsive.

The hotel is a converted grocery store so the property feels unique and has some charm to it. The location was also good, on the main street and walkable to several restaurants. Bed was comfortalbe.

The rooms weren't very soundproof.

The staff are fantastic: professional and extremely helpful. The location is both quiet and peaceful but also within very easy reach of the airport. On-site parking is very convenient. The design and concept of the accommodation is very modern. The front desk is spacious and welcoming. The second floor corridor is wide and light. My single room had a generous bathroom slightly at the expense of the overall room size but it was fine because I was only able to stay for one night on this trip however, next time if I am able to stay longer I would be keen to book a larger room and explore more of Amami which is a wonderful place to visit.

I liked how chilling this place.Staff are nice and kind and easy to check in and out.I liked the smell of bath products.

Very quiet and spacious, clean and modern room. (Not sure why some reviews said it was noisy. It was as quiet as a monk's retreat!) We didn't have a car but the hotel picked and dropped us off at the airport. We rented bikes from the hotel and cycled to some amazing beaches. Restaurants within walking distance and bus stop right there. Enjoyed shopping at the gift shop. I was sad to leave. Limited English but they tried hard to communicate and with their English skills and Google translate, it wasn't a problem. Highly recommend this place.

Loved everything!

I really liked it here I thought it was just a shop at first and it was actually the hotel lol. So I shopped and was able to just leave my car where I parked. I stayed for 3 nights and it was very comfortable. There's a great izakaya next door and the staff made me reservations at a couple restraunts which was very helpful. I loved my stay and this island is incredible. If you have a car nesari coffee is the best and not far from here.

I grew up in the south and I thought I knew about ants but if you have anything seal it! They came in the second floor when I was eating something instantly. Tie off your garbage bags too. The ants are no joke

Well designed room, I liked it a lot. It has a desk by the window. Nice, modern bathroom. Outside the room, there is a large shared desk with chairs and a library of books/magazines. Staff was very helpful during my stay! Overall, I recommend it to anyone staying in that part of the island. Close to restaurants and supermarket.

Room was a bit small for unpacking/packing. I had a small room and definitely would not squeeze another person in.

The bathroom was spacious. The room had a nice view of the mountain. There's a restaurant and a souvenir store on the first floor. There is a microwave and toaster oven available for use. My room had a refrigerator so I could store food and drink.

Very clean, combines traditional and modern design, very cool shop with souvenirs downstairs, conveniently located next to an Izakaya. I was worried about some negative reviews but it’s very quiet and clean and cool.

Less warm staff vs local small ones, everything a bit neutral but no issues and everything was ok.

Staff come to pick me up at the airport and they even take us to Tomori Beach. On the check out day they also send us back to the airport by private car.Architecture is so modern and clean with Muji style and big room with high ceiling and one sofar and table for normal twin room. Big toilet as well.They have share area with lot of book and long wooden table (so quiet and private and feel so relax)​Bus stop is infront of the hotel and 5 min walk to nearby beach | Taxi service is besides hotel as well as rental bike shop

There is supermarket near hotel 6 min walk but besides that the restaurant around the area is close.
